he would have fell into a coma in 2003. first thing i'd tell him is that rjj is no longer p4p no.1, and got starched 2x in '04.

Damn where do you start ? You got the Floyd retirement. Roy Jones downfall,Oscar and Floyd actually breaking the sales records, the incredible Vasquez-Marquez trilogy,Barrera-Morales fought agian and it might have been the best one yet,Trinidad came back and retired agian then came back agian and seems to have retired agian, the Heavyweight divison took 4 years to unify just 2 titles. Holyfields still fighting umm Tyson quit on his stool and retired. Hopkins made 20 title defenses. Barrera got embarrsed by some little Phillipino kid named Manny Pacquiao who went on to become a mega star. Corrales fought Castillo and it might have been the best fight we ever seen. We lost Willie Pep,Diego Corrales,Trevor Berbick,Floyd Patterson and others.

Heres a way to look at how much has happened in these 5 years look at Rings year end p4p ratings.

    1. Roy Jones Jr - Went on to lose his next 3 two of which by brutal KO and now hes won 3 in a row 1 agianst Felix Trinidad of all people (people in 03 would NEVER expected that fight) now hes challenging once agian for the Light Heavyweight Championship.

    2. Bernard Hopkins - He stopped DLH in there big showdown then accomplished his much desired 20 Middleweight title defenses then losses twice to Jermain Taylor. Retires for about a minute comes back to win the Light Heavyweight Championship at 41 then losses it now hes fighting Kelly Pavlik the man who beat Jermain twice and seems to have a hold of Nards longtime spot at Middleweight King.

    3. Shane Mosley - Losses twice to Winky Wright, drops to Welterweight wins a couple tuneups then takes a pair of big money fights with Fernando Vargas at 154 TKOs him and KOs him then drops to Welter once agian easily defeats former belt holder Luiz Collazo then drops a debatable decision in a war to young star Miguel Cotto then goes back to 154 and KOs Ricardo Mayorga and appears to be dropping back to Welterweight agian soon. All of that and the same steroid scandel that was brought up over 5 years ago sneaks back into his life.

    4. Oscar De la Hoya - Wins a disputed verison of the Middleweight Championship before being stopped on according to some soft body shot by Bernard then the man takes off the entire year of 2005 comes back wins another world title easily stopping Mayorga before taking yet another year off before losing to Floyd Mayweather in the richest fight of all times then he takes another year off before beating little Steve Forbes now hes fighting another smaller fighter in Manny Pacquiao. Some can say hes come full circle to what he was doing earlier in his career. Dont forget he helped introduce the pouplar HBO 24-7 series, his Golden Boy Promotions company has grown big time then theres the whole Cross Dressing thing and even the fall out then make up with Bob Arum and Top Rank.

    5. Floyd Mayweather - Went on to win a verison of the Junior Middleweight Championship, wound of becoming the linear Welterweight Champion before winning a Junior Middleweight title vs DLH. His fights with DLH and Hatton where some of the richest in boxing history couple that with his appearance on Dancing with the Stars and his WWE Wrestlemania match with the Big Show he became one of the biggest stars in recent boxing memory. He moved up 5 spots to number 1 p4p all that before he retired undefeated in 2008 with alot still to prove.

    6. Manny Pacquiao - Had 2 classic wars with Juan Manuel Marquez in which he went 1-0-1 while the majority feel hes 0-2 vs JMM,defeated Marco Antonio Barrera in a long awaited rematch and bested the great Erik Morales 2-1 in a brutal trilogy and even captured a Lightweight Championship. Now hes headed for his toughest challenged a date with Oscar De la Hoya at a weight over 40 pounds from where he started. 5 years ago he was basically a unknown know hes a boxing icon and worldwide star sitting at number 1 p4p.

    7. Kostya Tszyu - Made his much awaited return from injury to TKO Sharmba Mitchell agian then in his next bout lost his Junior Welterweight title to Ricky Hatton in a grueling bout in England which would be his last to date over 3 and a half years ago.

    8. Erik Morales - The first half of the past 5 years went wonderfully he won 2 titles at 130 lost a rubber match to Marco Antonio Barrera but went on to score a huge win over Manny Pacquiao in 2005. Then he loses easily to Zaheer Raheem, gets brutally stopped 2 straight times to Pacquiao before losing agian to David Diaz in an attempt to win a Lightweight title. Despite 4 losses in a row hes still talking comeback.

    9. James Toney - Goes on to win a Heavyweight Championship in 05 or so we thought he later tested positive for steroids and his win over John Ruiz was declared a NC. His next shot at a title comes agianst Hasim Rahman and manages only a draw. He takes a eliminator vs Sam Peter losses a bad decision before fighting him agian and losing a damn near shutout. He tests postive for roids yet agian after a SD win in 07. His latest fight was a NC in a Rahman rematch which was a FSN aired fight with no real importance a far cry from a world title fight on HBO just 2 years prior. Toneys 40 still fights overweight, his speach is slurring but still has dreams of winning a piece of the Heavyweight Championship.

    10. Antonio Tarver - Another case of a long 5 years. Shocks the world in 04 by KOing Roy Jones and becoming Light Heavyweight Champion for the 2nd time. Loses the title vs Glen Johnson before winning it back in a rematch 6 months later. He defeats Jones in the rubber match before staring in Rocky Balboa as Mason Dixon. He loses a one sided decison to Bernard Hopkins. Scores 2 unimpressive wins in 2007 which made most believe he was done but he rebounded in 08 to defeat Clinton Woods and win another Light Heavyweight Championship.
