    . . . . of course . . . what do you expect ???

When you say "America" . . . you're reffering to the goverment. The U.S. goverment doesn't even care about their own boxers or the sports itself . . . why should they give a **** about boxers of other nationalities? :deal

. . . now if you're reffering to the American people . . . same thing . . . not all americans cares about the sport. :deal

It's really the lack of mainstream media coverage of boxing in America. Unfortunately, boxing falls in a grey area in the US: its too brutal and barbaric for liberal America and not brutal enough for the demographic between 20-35. The aforementioned demographic prefers MMA to boxing.

American boxing writers have always been biased against the Klitschko, they have lied so many times about them.

sorry most of my friends watch boxing. and i have had many of them start watching boxing as well as girlfriends. maybe i'm just lucky but most were disappointed with peter's performance and had hoped to see some fireworks out of these big punching heavies. oh yeah and most hate the fact the de la hoya still fights and kills the sport. but i do admit i have pretty close knit groups of friends that have been over for more than a few fights.

I guess if you´re really interested in boxing, you can appreciate fighters from all corners of this world.

If you follow boxing today and never heard of the Klitschko´s, it´s safe to say that you don´t follow the sport that close.

If those who don't like the Klitschkos could say it the way you do, that they simply don't care for their style, it would be far more appropriate. Instead, Klitschko haters fail to see their ability, boring or not, they are very difficult to beat.

americans dont care about boxing in general, so of course they dont care about fighters outside their country.

most americans only know the big names like de la hoya, ali, mayweather, holyfield, tyson.

hell, most people havent even heard of pacman or pavlik.

    Right on.

Just take a look at how the British, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans and Germans treat their own fighters, hell even Kessler is treated like royalty in Denmark. In America they just downgrade their own fighters as much as possible or insult every single move from them then blame them for going nuts about it.

I love the Klitshkos, big fans. I dont discuss them much because nearly every topic either turns into how much of glass jaw Wlad has or how Vitali got cut and loss to Lewis or how he quit against Byrd.

What can you say about a country that has someone like Sarah Palin in the running for VP!!!

The top 3 pound-for-pound ranked fighters are non-American. Only 2 of the top 10 are American. Guys like Pacquiao, Marquez, Margarito, and many more sell out US venues fighting other non-Americans. Your claim is unjustified.

it it is true to a degree imo. you only have to look how long it took for america to give lennox lewis any sort of acclaim. if the heavyweight champ aint american then its because the division is weak.

there are many americans who don't know about anything about fighters outside there own country, that have there minds made up before they've seen him fight because of his nationality.

there are also some good american posters on this site who are knowledgable and open minded about foreign fighters (particularly european fighters) who are prepared to give fighters there dues.

What with all the Anti-American threads today?

Yeah sure, a few of them are half witted Calzaghe haters, but most of them are alright.
