If a fighter can not deal with movement is it not their own fault?

To me there is a distinct different between movement and flat out running and avoiding any kind of exchanges

Some guys run so much and stay so far away that they cripple their own offense. Lamont Petersen vs Danny Garcia

I think if a fighter can't handle basic movement or lateral movement where the guy is still in range then it's their fault

But if a guy is running corner to corner rope to rope withou an interest in making a fight it's their fault

:yep The fact that boxing is in essence a form of self defence really should give them a clue.

If a fighter cannot handle movement in the ring, then he is not good schooled and only has himself to blame.

Oscar didn't use any pot shot style, he straight up ran and that's why he lost.

It's there for you to watch. Watch rounds 10-11 and tell me that style isn't similar to Mayweather's punch and run style he uses against some opponents or Lara's style against heavy punchers.

It's obviously Oscar's version, but the idea is the same, avoid opponents offense using legs and score with a punch or a weak 1-2...

Oscar won round 10 using that style and you can put up an argument for round 12th also.

Tito could hardly land anything clean as a result of Oscar using his legs so much yet the judges and many of the media crucified him for doing that.

In rounds 1-9 Oscar shows us a superb defensive style... he actually made Tito pay for missing and initiated many attacks that included combos. Tito's face was a mess by round 7 and Tito rarely ever got a messy face.

In the last 3 rounds Oscar got on the back foot and flicked the jab and very occasional 3-4 punch combo.

That fight is a great display of effective defensive style. The goal is to beat your opponent as in beat up your opponent.
