I'm just kinda curious to this strange phenomenon...
I'd really like to know the logic behind it all...

    let's take a recent example...
one guy posts a thread in which he's saying...

"In the end I realy beleive ricky dont stand a chance in hell against floyd"

    then another one responds..

    "
I give him virtually no chance at all."

    and another who says

"zero chance, in fact deep down i think hatton is a fluke"...

Anyway , of course , not all of them share this opinion...but i'd just like to have some explanations here...
    forget Hatton for a moment...

I'm talking about the people who say things like "no chance" , "i'm certain" , "no way in hell" etc...etc...

My question goes to all these people...

WHY ?...why do you actually bother watching these fights if you already know the outcome? why bother if you're already 100% sure that no matter what , fight "A" is gonna beat fighter "B" ?

Is it just for the pleasure of seeing someone get beat?
and if not , what's the reason behind it since you already know for sure who's gonna win a fight?

better yet , why don't you guys actualy bet huge amounts of money? like , $10 000 or why not , 50 000 or hell , $ 100 000...? there's zero risks right? since you can predict what's gonna happen?...

why were you guys excited for wlad vs brewster II or floyd vs De la Hoya?...or recently , for hatton vs floyd?...why are you , as a fan insisting for these fights to happen and why are you happy that they're being made if you can predict what's gonna happen? there's zero suspense for you right?...

    (just curious really)

    I think i get it...
it's a bit like watching several times a film that you love...you know the ending , but you still watch it because you enjoy it so much...

(or maybe that's a stupid analogy)...

well people think whatever they want before a fight but you're never 100% till it happens. al you have to do is look at tyson-douglas. and if the fight turns as expected, nothing wrong with watching a good asswhipping.

yeah i understand...but i'm talking about the ones who say things like.."no chance"..."impossible" etc...

    I'm curious about these guys...
how come they're not multi millionaires already , know what i mean?...
since they already know what's gonna happen , why not bet tons of cash on a fight right?

To see it live instead of hearing about it. I'm not sure if I ever called a recent fight a complete tossup.

Just because we can get gung ho on a prediction doesn't mean we won't bother to watch it live. Why would we not want to see it live and wait for results? I don't see a reason not to watch a fight only because you're positive you know the outcome. That takes away all the energy of that paticular fight.

Getting excited and opioniated about a fight only to not watch it live or at all has to be one of the craziest things I ever heard of. Unless their is something more important like plans or money keeping you from watching it.

well, in those instances you have to account for the nuthuggers and haters or people who just go with the popular believe. biased fans say alot of things. they say those things but they themselves dont always believe it.

Well, everyone has a chance, often it's a very very very very very slim chance.

If it's a PPV when I think a guy has a very slim chance, I usually won't order it, although I did order Hopkins-DLH when I felt DLH had a very slim chance to win. It was a huge event, and Oscar was more competitive than I thought. Others like PBF-Gatti I didn't order.

But if it's on plain HBO and a total mismatch (DLH-Charpentier, PBF-Bruseles), I'll stlll watch it or tape it and watch it later, being the boxing junkie I am.

you brought up a good point. watching a one-sided fight on regular tv is one thing, paying for it on ppv is a whole nother matter entirely.

I watch it to see how they get knocked out. Often times the best knockouts come in fights were the other guy is completely over matched.

One of the great thing about boxing is that nothing is for certan. Upsets happen. Everything might go right for the underdog on that nite. This uncertanty creats even more excitemnt.
