If a guy like Jimrex Jaca can hurt Marquez, Valero can surely do a lot better..

I'm saying Valero would pose a certain danger to Marquez. Not sure I would go this far though. It's true that Valero is still relatively untested. Pacquiao has proven himself as one of the three best fighters in the world P4P.

With logic this flawless, It's a shame I even thought for a second that JMM could beat Valero.

How can you say Valero is more refined than Mayorga? We've not seen anywhere near enough of him to say that.

And agree Jeff, he'd be best going back to old CP JMM style against this beast. But if he did it wouldnt go for the 12. Once he'd been weakened sufficently JMM would up the ante and get him out of there.

Of course, whether JMM still has the reflexes and speed to revert back into his old way is another thing.

I think it would go 12 if JMM could fight that way. Valero won't stop coming. The guy has major stamina and strength. He works like a maniac in the gym.

Wow, really. Are you a Pacman hater too or are you serious? Seems to be the nuthuggers and the haters that have the most radical and unreasonable views. You must be a hater, ill make a note of that when responding to people.

I recall that fight. Jaca is a pretty good fighter it seemed but lacked a lot of power. If he had some power Marquez woulda been in deeper trouble. Same with that guy who fought katsidis. Marquez has to have one ofthe best recovery times of any boxer I've seen. As Valero steps up in competition he will face tougher more durable foes. Pitalua was 39-40 years old and the best guy on his resume was sta cruz. Mosquera put Valero on the canvas and went 10 with him. Marquez at the very least goes 12 and wins by UD. Jorge Solis was never beaten nor knocked down till Pacman knocked him out and Solis has faced better competition than Valero did. It is a different world the higher up the ladder you go.

Valero's potentially a very bad style matchup for Marquez at this point. Marquez has lost some of his quickness, has started to try brawling when he should box, never had the world's greatest chin, and hasn't really filled out like a lightweight. There are a lot of guys in the lightweight division I'd pick to beat Valero, but I'm hesitant to put Marquez on that list.

well valero could certainly hurt jmm and stop him if he connects with solid a punch but jmm could show valero what it truly means to be an elite fighter.

You know Manny would love to see this fight happen. He'd never have to fight Marquez again if Marquez lost, and Valero losing would relegate him to permanent trike driver status.

Yes, Manny would probably hope they fight and that Valero wins! lol Manny will never fight Valero so he'd get out of fighting either! lol
