If a Pac/Marquez fight at 135 happens...

toss up imo, hard to predict, but i'm leaning more towards marquez on this one

 

Its a good thing that there's still alot of people here who share the same sentiments as mine. Good on you guys. Yeah the result between these 2 will be the same no matter how many fights they have or in what weight they fight. 50/50 fight. That's just the way they are with their contrasting styles. They were BORN to be equals. And that's good IMO, because they truly bring the best out of each other.

We should really praise them more because of there close fights instead of bashing them for it. That's what we did with Izzy and Rafa with their trilogy of close fights, so why can't we do the same to Pac and JMM?

 

At 135, it would be probably more of the same, which is not a bad thing since that gave the fans two very good fights. However, it would probably be a razor-thin victory either way and not change much there either. Both are just too evenly matched.

I see Pac beating Marquez again at 135. They both look strong at that weight but Pac looks even more comfortable now that he doesn't have to starve himself to make 130.

 

Don't you guys remember a similar trilogy with razor thin controversial decisions? That's right, it's following the path of the EM-MAB Trilogy, with controversy following each fight but nonetheless giving the fans the best fights ever.

 

I think we need to see a couple more fights from both fighters. Pac fought brilliantly against David Diaz, but then again it was David Diaz we are talking about. Marquez was in a competitive fight against Joel Casamayor until that scintillating finish, the same Casamayor who arguably lost to Santa Cruz, and went life and death against the technically limited but powerpunching Katsidis, but also survived Corrales, Castillo and Freitas. Anyone from either side of the fence can spin it for their fighter, but we either need to see more fights at 135 from these guys, or the real deal the third match to remove the controversy once and for all.

I think They both loose some speed but power increases. Over all the playing field will be as level as it ever was, but PAC's skill has definitly increase which might be a bit more than JMM can handle....I see a KO at 140...or 135 if they do a rubber match....is it even called a rubber match?:huh JMM hasn't beaten PAC....

 

JMM isn't really fast...He's definitly not slow but he not like PAC. PAC is FAST...like a prime DLH or Floyd mayweather. JMM is not on that level by any means.

Which is part of the reason why JMM couldn't beat PAC on the 2 occassions they met. PAC's lack of boxing skill was evident especially against a supremely skilled fighter like JMM. But PAC's level of talent and natrual ability like his power, speed, reflexes and his stamina made it so that JMM couldn't beat the fighter whom he almost warped in the skills category.

I agree that as fighters go up in weight classes the edge goes to the "BOXER" or in JMM's case, the "MASTER BOXER". But what also needs to be noted is PAC's improvment from a one "D" fighter to almost a complete boxer with incredible natrual gifts and ability that allowed him to reach the upper echlon of this sport and his division.

That in itself will be anther obstacle that JMM will have to deal with. He did well at 130 with PAC but in a loosing effort, at 135 or 140 it may be even more difficult due to PAC evolution of the science of boxing. He'll never reach the skill of JMM but JMM will never and has never been as blessed with natrual gifts that PAC has.

Regarding PAC's comments about the 3rd fight happening under his terms...i Think it has a lot to do with the way JMM conducted himself in loosing. Making excuses and saying that "HE WON"...I don't think that sat well with PAC who was the winner and was the one who got shafted in the first fight with the draw. I think he honestly feels JMM is more about using PAC's name to make BIG money rather than him actually feeling like he can beat him.

I know JMM feels he has a chance to beat PAC and it's not really about the money, but JMM did cry a bit too much after the fight and made himself out to be a poor looser. I hope the fight happens b/c they always put on a great preformance and it's always ultra exciting. The outcome however won't change...just how PAC wins IMO.

 

Same thing, Marquez will be KD again and he'll try to hold on to the rope from being KD He better hope Pac doesn't do what he did in their first fight," Fool, get your arm off that rope or i'll do it for you"!

 

:good Very good post! You've sucessfully expressed the landscape of the two fighters most recent accomplishments and how relevant they are.

PAC absolutely DOMINATED a limited champion in David Diaz where JMM struggled a bit wiht a ONCE very good world champion who's best days were long gone when they met at 135....yet the KO victory over the cuban who never had been KO'd was thrilling.

A 3rd match would be ideal.
