I was a massive fan of Big Frank, and really think he was under rated, and had the heart of a pride of lions, never mind one

how would you see a peak Bruno faring against the following ?

    Vitali - lose TKO
Vlad - Win TKO - I just think Bruno could rattle Vlads whiskers a bit
Haye - Win or lose very early TKO
    Valuev - Win pts
    Arreloa - lose pts
    Chagaev - win pts

be interested to hear peoples thoughts

I see a mythical Haye match up a real 50-50 fight, first one to detonate on the others jaw wins

  5. Bruno/Haye wouldn't be a 50/50 no way, Frank would definitely be the favourite

Haye would only win if he could get Bruno to the later stages and avoided Franks jab, David Hayes whilst an exciting fighter has not got the same bull like strength that Tyson had. A good Frank Bruno would beat most of todays crop and would KO Haye in a few rounds, as David would be trying to use his hand speed leaving his chin exposed.

Even the Klits would struggle with Frank and it would an eciting match, Frank would chop Valuez down in a similar fashion to how he took Anders Euklund out
Frank took a lot of stick over the years but the man was an excellent heavyweight. It was ashame he wasn't with George Francis from the very start, not half way through his career. Whilst we talk about American trainers people forget what a fantastic trainer and conditioner George was and took no crap from any of his fighters

Think only Vitali would win out of that list but he has the jab to have a good chance of beating Vitali also.

Bruno got too much heart and chin for Haye. Bruno could hit man. Haye would cave in.

He would do very well against all of them but would have him losing to Vitali and Vlad
Easy to forget he was giving a near peak version of Lewis all he could handle for 7 rounds

    Definately think he sparks Haye

Defo would've been World champ earlier. Bruno had the power to beat any of those fighters you mention

Beats Wlad, Valuev and Chagaev, but loses to Arreola...what has Arreola shown us to make this realistic?

Another point about Frank Bruno that Nigel Benn confirmed prior to the McCall fight, Frank wasn't chinny he just tried to ride the shots and was too proud to take an eight count, hold etc. It wasn't in his nature and this wasn't drilled into him when he was first trained under Jimmy Tibbs. George Francis spent years trying to get him out of this habit. However its fair to say that he would run out of gas which at times has been put down to over training and anxiety. If Frank had the expertise of someone like Kerry kayes to work with George this may not have been such a problem. When fighting Lewis, Frank brought in a guy called Keith Morton to work with George on teh key issues opf speed and flexibility. If you watch the fight you can see despite the result Frank was able to out work and out jab Lewis so the results were positive

As said, Brunos chin wasn't THAT bad. He just didn't know what to do when he was hurt (I'm not sure I buy the 'pride' angle though), he took massive shots from Tyson and Witherspoon before going down.

At the moment I'd take him over Haye any day of the week.

In fairness, Frank did struggle with speed, having said that, he had a beautiful jab which I think would be enough to drop Haye.
