If a punch lands on the arms or gloves and you go to the canvas should it be a knockdown?

If thats the case, then I agree. If it's not in the rules, then I am fine with it.

 

As far as I do know it is not prohibited to punch with both hands simultaniously in boxing.
It is not prohibited to block in way when attacker's hand hits elbow.

It is prohibited for example stuff like 1) rabbit punches: famous practitioners: Huck, Glowacki.
It is prohibited to punch below belt line, famous pactitoner vs Loma was Salido, pillow fisted boxer btw.
Etc etc is prohibited.

 

Any punch that lands ( Cleanly) is a knockdown

Boxing rules are so "meh", to be honest.

 

From the top of my head, I can only think of Manny double fisting Clottey and getting warned for it.
But good luck getting away with it in an actual ring.
Despite it being well within in the rules.

 

That Pac KD should have been scored a knock down. Maybe the ref thought their feet were tangled up. I’ve seen a KD disallowed when legs were tangled or if the punch was illegal (below belt or behind head, etc. ). which did not seem to be the case in this instance. The ref appears to have made a mistake.

The only other exception is when a lower ranked fighter knocks down a big name. Like when Crawford was knocked down in a recent fight. It was a clear KD and the ref waved it off. His head was clearly up his ass and he scored it a slip.

 

any punch that can cause damage should be scored in pro.boxing imo...for exemple look how canelo messed up smith arm...how isnt that a scoring punch?

 

If the punch puts the other boxer down, its a knock down

 

All this crap about 'scoring punches'...this isn't the amateurs. All you guys are doing is confusing one another trying too hard.

If you punch someone w/ a high guard, and it hits only gloves, and they go down, it's a freakin KD. If you punch a guy on the arms, he goes down, it's a KD.

Good grief...thought this was a board of knowledgeable boxing fans.
