Nah. But they wouldn't have DQ'd Abraham either. No way. The one thing the ref would definitely do, would be to warn Dirrell for low blows from the first round. You do remember him bitching for being hit... errr.. in the body, eh?
Well in Michigan the ref was a disgrace and the doctor started treating Abraham like he was in the hospital, it doesn't get much worst. Abraham gets DQ'd in Germany and almost everywhere else in the world. Not necessarily in Florida though where Martinez knocked Cintron out but it was ruled a headbutt 10 minutes later, so ruling Abraham's illegal blow a fine KO is not that big for their standards I think...
The ref would have docked a few points from Dirrell for low blows, not counted his knockdowns, but count his own "slips" as knockdowns for AA. It would have got to the point that Dirrell daren't punch him in case he gets docked a point. They would pull out all the stops to ensure a points win for AA (just like they did for Ottke against Reid).
2 for sure conclusions, IMO 1. Dirrell would have been deducted points for low blows.. (Possibly hurting his fight/strategy?) Or 2. Dirrell is given time to recover & or get counted out. (Post 11th Rd KD) (Abraham losing a point "intentional foul")
