Then that power is real. Wach is a punching bag, he's not a good fighter but he does have size, power and an iron chin. I expect a lopsided decision for povetkin but if he were to level wach, he will have done more than enough to have a rematch with klitchko or a instant fight with fury.

Povetkin has stopped his last 3 opponents, they all have pretty sturdy chins. Perez, Takam, Charr.
Stopping Wach would be an outstanding feat, povetkin will be seen as the 2nd best heavyweight of the 21st century, resume wise for sure.

Americans are not dominating heavyweight, so no matter what Povetkin does he will always be a bum, since heavyweight is filled with bums, since Americans do not dominate :nut:silly

But seriously, YES, if Putin's messenger knocks out Wach, people will FEAR him, Wlad might even be hesitant to fight him again.

I think everyone is under estimating the big 6'8 solid fighter. He is also Wlads spoarring partner for fury ,nothing povetkin comes at him with is going to be any worse than sparing with wlad which are said to be sometimes more brutal than his real fights.I haven't picked a winner on here yet,one has to remember Wach also has excellent experience and is a good solid fighter ,hes more polished offensively than fury, and has more snap in his punches. He is just not very fast footed or handed so we will see.

Let's not get carried away. He doesn't have remotely the resume of either Klitschko. Since he lost to Wlad, he's beaten three top 20ish hw's in a row, one of them probably a top 10 guy (Takam, although some people had Perez in top 10 too). Before that, he beat two other top 10ish guys in Chambers and Chagaev, and a few other top 20ish guys, very old, possibly shot Byrd and Donald, and Marco Huck. So 8 top 20ish guys all told, and 3 or 4 top 10 guys.

That's real good for modern Hw's but its not remotely at either K level. I'm assuming you don't put him over Wlad, who beat him. Vitali still has at least an argument to be put over his brother, who, unlike Povetkin, he at least never lost too. Vitali's argument for resume over his brother is quality of the very top, per Sanders and Peter, not quantity of the toppish. But even in quantity of the toppish, which is where Povetkin would "compete" with Vitali, its not even close. All of Vitali's 9 consecutive defenses were top 20ish, Adamek, Gomez, Arreola, Chisora, Solis, were either clear top 10 or top 10ish hw's. So, just counting after he became champ for a third time, he's had 9 top 20ish victories, 3 to 5 top 10, without a loss. So, not even including his earlier career, he's still demonstrably well above Povetkin and its not even debatable.

All that said, Povetkin's still had an extremely impressive run and he's starting to make it clear that he's the best non K of the K era. That's the best you can say for him, but that's still quite a bit.

The truth is, Povetkin is a better fighter than when he fought Wlad.

Povetkin can't miss that chin of Wach!!

He needs to practice on Wach like a punching bag!

If he KO's Wach then we'll know Waldo was
smart to use the Human OctoPuss Technique
    on Povetkin in their fight!!

Povetkin needs more practice on KOing the big
tall opponents so he can KO Wilder, Fury, and
Waldo next year back to back to back!!

    :hey

"he's no deontay" - guess we'll find out in January
I'm not insanely biased like most people seem to be. I think it will be a good fight. Wilder fighting like he did against Stiverne using his reach, and Povetkin using his boxing skills and experience to get inside
I'm gonna watch it and I don't really care who wins, because until they beat Wlad it dms

Wach is gonna have to have one of the best chins ever to not get knocked out by Sasha

    I'll be shocked.

I'm not writing off a Wach win here and possibly by KO....okay now go ahead and laugh at me.

IMO I expect Povetkin to win, but a victory by Wach would not shock me either. If Povetkin underestimates Wach, could be a long night for povetkin

Um, Grab the 33 tomato cans and put them with Povetkin. I almost guarantee Povetkin knocks them ALL out. Wilder fought someone with a pulse like Stiverne and couldn't knock him out, I personally think Povetkin could and will knock Stiverne out if they fought.

    I'd be impressed.

Wach has MUCH better chin than Perez, Takam and Charr.

Perez never took bombs from Wlad for 12 rounds, Takam and Charr never took too.

Takam was dropped by Gregory Tony, Charr - by old Vitali.

If we compare common opponents for Wlad and Povetkin - old Byrd, Chambers and Chagaev - we'll see that Wlad hits much harder than Sasha/

Old Byrd - Wlad dropped him in 5th and KO'd in 7th. Povetkin beat him after that through 11 rounds but never dropped (the towel was thrown)

Chambers was never hurt by Povetkin, he was KO'd cold by Wlad

Chagaev was never hurt by Povetkin, dropped and stopped by Wlad.

Chambers, Byrd and Rudenko (who sparred both Wlad and Sasha) say that Wlad has much more power, it's like from another league than Povetkin's.

Sasha has great accuracy though, and is a volume puncher. I can't see him KO'ing Mariusz, but I won't rule out some Brittish-like stoppage here
