I'd put my money on Ali. I love Tyson, but Ali pulled through consistently in his biggest fights.

The only thing you had to say is that this wasn't prime Ali. 1968 Ali clowns any version of Frazier.

Nah... Iron Mike is a baaaaad mother****er. I have him in my top 3 or 5 all time HW's... **** maybe #2. it's just that he's being matched up against #1.

He certainly looked 4 years past his prime when he was bouncing Patterson twice within the 18 months from the Ali fight. Don't listen too much to the rhetoric in classic. He certainly took Ali lightly and started developing a bad drinking habit before the fight. But he was no where near 4 years past his prime? Maybe his peak, I guess.

Of course, it won't look like Ali-Liston. Tyson would be better, and wouldn't quit.

Tyson and Frazier are different so the points still stand. I mean, you could go "Look what Douglas did." He won almost every round.

Hence the word 'prime' Ali. That was a pre-peak Ali. He also took flush shots from the likes of Shavers, Foreman, Frazier [no idea how he got up from that left hook in the FOTC], Lyle amongst others. If there was one thing Ali didn't lack on his resumé, it was punchers.

I could quite easily say that if James 'Buster' Douglas can execute a stick & move strategy on Tyson, then Ali can. But I know that wasn't an absolute peak Tyson.

    That didn't even make sense.

This is one of those fights, I mean you would think that Tyson's seek and destroy style would give Ali the problems it gave Holmes, albeit past prime Holmes, but your also talking about a man with a terrific chin, and a guy who is everything Mike Tyson wasn't, in terms of mental fortitude.

I think in a 15 round fight, there is only one winner (Ali), in a 12, not sure, although Tyson has a shot, as the best way to neutralize him imo, was to Box and fight, only im not sure Ali would have enough offense, to supplement the Boxing, although its conceivable he could frustrate Tyson and win that way.

Ali. Jabs and counters Tyson all night and ties him up when he's too close. Mike gets frustrated and starts making mistakes. Ali's specialty is aggressive comeforward fighters. Both would have their moments, but Ali got's this one.

Tyson is possibly my favorite fighter, but Swarmer is right on the money.

Ali also had a great chin and if he could live through one of Mike's combos, I think Mike gets mentally frustrated and you will have a replay of Tyson vs. Lewis.
