If Ali had beaten Holmes...untouchable resume?

I do not think it would change his GOAT status in the slightest.

However I think as Ali had not KO'd an opponent for well over 4 yrs previously, Holmes status might have been viewed in a less favourable light if he had been beaten by the 10 count.

Plus do we think Ali would have hung the gloves up if he beat Holmes, hell no, a rematch against Holmes would have the big money bout, Alis brain/neuro system sure did not again need to be on the receiving end of Holmes fists, that would have speeded up Alis neuro deterioration, or possibly worse.

I just wish we could turn the clock back, and for this and the Berbick bouts not to have happened.

Then possibly a title unification against WBA Champion Mike Weaver in the horizon.
