Different case scenario. Joe Frazier is beaten by a young heavy by the name of Bowe in 73. Bowe then defends against roman and Norton successfully. Ali's at ringside taunting Bowe, Riddick s chomping at the bit to get Muhammad in the ring. So let's put a fully fit Bowe in the jungle against Ali.
Is this Ali v Foreman mark 2?
Or does the younger fighter retain the title?

I can see Bowe's Marine skills coming to the fore here. He'll jump out in a khaki top and ambush ali in a thicket. Ali aint good with Vietcong.

Bowe does not handle the heat well at all. How many heavies are going to handle 105 degree temperatures with the sun beating down on them?.

Bowe's dinosaur legs would get considerably worse by about the 8th round. A new born giraffe He'd resort to fighting off the ropes because he'd have no legs. And Ali would pepper away until the ref stepped in.

Bowe would have beat this version of Ali, unlike Foreman, Bowe had a great stamina and knew how to pace himself.

Bowe won't be wasting punches aimlessly.

The heat may defeat Bowe but Ali himself won't.

Its a good fight if they fought in an actual normal arena? I see Bowe gets him UD win.

Muhammad Ali UD 15 Riddick Bowe.

Ali beats Bowe to the punch too often.

Pretty sure the Rumble was fought at 3 AM local time. It was a humid 80ish degrees according to my findings. Yeah I think Ali beats him but lets keep it real about the heat.

right...brain fart. was thinking manila and kuuala lampur and some of those other Ali bouts.

Makes no difference to the folks picking Bowe anyway. But one thing Bowe was not---a road warrior. He'd have to become one to win this. And he wouldn't even fight Hide in the UK. He made Herbie take his act on the road.

It would all be down to Eddie Futch.

He might be able to deliver Bowe a path to victory.

    Otherwise, Ali would take it.

    Pretty much this.

When Bowe was focused, in shape, and following the path set before him by the brilliant, late eddie futch, he was a h2h monster. That version of bowe would be a problem for literally every hw champion.

However, despite saying all that, even with futch, the heat would be a problem. Even in his prime bowe started to pack on the lbs and would frequently weigh north of 230 (not his best functional weight due to the obvious flab and slower work rate).

In addition, Ali wouldnt find it hard to get under Bowes skin. Unless Futch managed to keep him focused, it could ironically become a repeat of the Foreman disaster with Ali baiting Bowe into brawling and burning through his gas tank.

Either way, both fighters would be in for a very rough night and the scorecards would be very interesting and chaotic. Both men could take a hit and were world class so thered be lots of back and forth action.

No need to elaborate on what would happen to the obese, post Holyfield trilogy futchless version of Bowe. Ali by wide UD or late round stoppage.
