If Ali scampers past Norton like he was everyone else at the time......

Do we ever see Norton II or even Norton III?

Possibly. He fought the likes of Bugner twice.
I dont see much changing for Ali.
Maybe things wouldnt have been so positive for Norton.

If the fight was close the first time, then Ali probably rematches him later if Norton doesn't get beaten by some 2nd tier fighter. But Ali will have a lot to lose; on a given day, Norton will always give Ali a tough fight, because Norton's style takes away Ali's chief weapon, the jab.

Like it's been said, Norton would always give Ali a tough time. It was the old style s make fights adage. If the first fight had been won by Ali It would have been that close for a public outcry for a rematch. And at that time I believe that Ali s pride would have forced him into a immediate rematch. Which would probably have been close again but Ali winning again. Whenever Ken would then get his title shot against foreman having lost twice to Ali is uncertain.
