I see it being the same as it was in reality. The extra three rounds would have been tight and Muhammad turns it on in the 15th to pull out the win. 8-7 to Ali in rounds. Okay,it would be equally as feasible if Ken pulled it out but I have a strong inkling that Muhammad would still have timed it just right. Muhammad and Ken gave us a really good fight in this second in their series.
I think it favours Norton, Ali worked harder against Norton than Norton did against Ali if that makes sense? If he’d had the marching orders to get busy… I wish Ali had more urgency with Norton, Ali could really pop Norton if he’d just “fought” and really sat down to hurt him like with Frazier in FOTC and Superfight 2 there is a good chance he puts him away If Holmes was more confident in the fight with Norton and went out to hurt him like he did against Spinks he could swat a lot harder then LeDoux and Garcia he should’ve been more physical. Ali didn’t get into the fight the first time, more a case of Dorsey vs Paez then Schemlimg vs Louis - 2nd fight was a better representative of Ali but a bad plan.
Great question Smoochie. I probably think the rematch was even closer than most other people so it’s nigh impossible for me to answer. I can only say it could still go either way - same way I feel about their actual 12 round rematch.
