    Fact.

People view Ali's era with rose tinted glasses. They were exciting fighters, sure. But very overrated skill wise.

Ali couldn't beat a big boxer. From today's era Wlad, Vitali, Fury, Valuev, Wilder all have his number based on height alone.

I also think he would struggle against Haye's power and cautious style and I think Pulev's style is all wrong for him.

If Ali boxed today he'd be a Tony Thompson type. A lower top ten ranked guy.

    Fact.

Crack is a harmful drug! Besides, Ali beat Terrell and chuck wepner and both were 6'6.

Oh dear, I would hate to see Ali having to go through the likes of Leapai, Povetkin, Mormeck, Pulev, Wach, Thompson and the rest of the modern day behemoths. I'm so glad he was gifted to be in the 60s and 70s.

I like the bit where you say "Fact." Perhaps include some statistics and maybe even some gifs of Ali getting caught by left hooks as well in order to back up this fantastic statement.

I agree, but then again he does have Parkinson and is about 80 years old but I still reckon he'd be top 15 if he was boxing today.

    It's irrefutable. Sports evolve.

    Just look at sprinting.

Sprinting and boxing are practically the same.

Furthermore, a new device has confirmed that Wladimir's pawing manoeuvre from the Ibragimov fight would have been enough to dent the skull of your average 1960s contender...had you gotten too close to that deadly waving mitt.

I think Ali would be in the top ten and probably pick up a title a couple of times but he wouldn't dominate the division for two decades. He certainly struggled against some not-so-talented fighters of the past eras.
