If all decisions went the way you scored it, what would ATG's records look like?

Well, running in the context of 'in and out' (landing and manouvering out of the way and making old fat whiner miss with right hands that had postcards attached.

I don't believe he said that running counted for something. He said flurries and running count for more than missing. Implying that if you land flurries, and run away without being hit, you score more than someone that's swinging and missing.

It was a very difficult fight to score. IMO, one of the most difficult of recent memory. Whitaker showed brilliant defense, and poked out the jab. But he seldom put together anything heavy. Unlike the Chavez fight when he varied his slick boxing with heavy artillery. De La Hoya also showed good defense, and put power punches together more regularly than Whitaker did, some missed, some landed.

It was one of those fights, it was no more than 2 points either way. I saw De La Hoya the winner 7 rounds to 5. If anyone scored the fight narrowly for Whitaker, no arguements here.

I hate the term "running". People look at it as a negative aspect of a fighters game. I actually look at it as a positve thing when punches are being landed. Leonard never looked to get into exchanges with Hagler. He threw flurries and kept his distance. Only when he slowed down during the late rounds did Hagler have any kind of success. Holmes lost fair and square. Thats his problem if he never coped with Spinks' style.

Willie Pep admitted he hit and run for his entire career. He once said "he who hits and runs away lives to fight another day".

Fighters can move all night long and not look to get into exchanges IMO, as long as they are scoring punches effectively.

    I love runners.

qawi would probably be around 44-8-1. He was robbed blind against ocasio, many thought he beat robet daniels and holyfield the first time.

Each 1 of Holmes's shots had more effect on Spinks than 10 of his. At 1 point Spinks landed like 5 left uppercuts in a row. Larry barely felt them. What about the big right Larry landed in the 15th where Spinks ran for the rest of the time?

To each their own. Running isn't entirely negative in my view, but the less I see of it in a fight the better.
