I was gonna say 'Tex' Cobb, but since he was never champ...probably Jeffries.

I think I would pick Jeffries. He's big, very durable and has a wrestling background. Liston, Tyson, Vitali and Frazier would all be good picks in my opinion.

with all respect but this is bull****.. when i was young and wild (and drinking sometimes) i probably have been in between 50 to 70 serious fights..(broke almost every bone in my biody) and the bigger they are the less difficult it is to fight them.. the small, fast slick guys those are difficult.
but... to answer you're question : guys like liston, frazier and dempsey and tyson.. cause it comes down to killerinstinct and the mental believe off not wanna give up and willing to win no matter what and at all costs. for example ali, holmes, patterson and so on if they where in a brawl they are the kind of so called honoust fighters.. if i am in a barroom fight first thing i try to do is to put my glass in you're face.
so the guys with the lesser moral standard probably will prevail

There's a big difference between fighting pissed up fatasses at the local bar and fighting a 6'7 250 lb. world champion boxer and kickboxer.

Yes and no. I've been in a few fights in my life and as far as I'm concerned it's completely different than boxing. Basically the best way to get good at it is to do it. I particularly think guys like Tyson and Liston would probably do well, as would someone like the older verson of Foreman.

You basically need a combination of size, meaness, experience and determination. Guys like Vitali and Lewis would also be hard to beat. Vitali because of his kickboxing skills, Lewis because (a) he's got a right hand like a truck and (b) I've heard he's stronger than hell. So personally I'd pick one of; Tyson, Liston, Foreman, Lewis or Vitali. And it's safe to say that in this type of contest, jail time probably helps. Hell I remember when I was about 20 fighting an older guy who did time, the bastered bite my cheek.

that's what i mean.. if you fight ( to be a good fighter) you do things natturally, some people have it some don't. there ain't now time to think take the opportunety. can you bite ? bite. can you poke his eye ? do it.
and no matter if you are boxer or kickboxer (wich i did myself for a few years) if you fight in a room or it's a fight with multiple people involved most of the times it goes down to the floor..

All the champ has to do is get out of the room first? Does the guy really have to walk out...can he crawl out? Burns is small. He might be able to crawl under the radar of the fighting in there, and sneak out the door.

If the guy has to finish everyone else off first, then I guess i'm going with Jeffries...just a gut feeling I have about his stamina in a situation like this.

    Marvin Hart.

He is so unnoticed that he would let all the Big Guys duke it out.....then sucker punch the last one remaining.

Hasim Rahman who as far as I know doesnt have any wrestling background easily put Lewis in a bear hug and took him down (in a TV studio). Of course you dont need any wrestling knowledge to bear hug someone and put him down, just strenght. Imagine someone with Foremans physical strenght or Tysons explosive power. Lewis and Vitali wouldnt stand much chance. Oh, and its easyer for a 5'10 220 pound guy to takedown a 6'7 250 pounded guy then the other way around (speaking of boxers with no wrestling background now). They bigger they are ... :deal Fact is, if the weight class is the same the smaller guy has the advantage in taking someone down (and yes I also have quite alot of wrestling experience).

Vitali could shove his kickboxing to his ass, kickboxing is not a particulary usefull tool. Besides Vitali DOESNT have the killer instinct he isnt a FIGHTER, he's a boxer. Big difference.

Tyson, Fraizer, Liston or Foreman would be my picks. Marciano and Holyfield (iron head, warrior heart) cant be counted out. Vitali and Lewis? No chance for them. Jeffreis, Sullivan, Dempsey? Dont think they could deal with the power of the likes of Foreman or Tyson.
