Fair enough, but my point was getting kocked down and having a glass jaw are two seperate things.

Right now ... KO3 Pacquiao. In 5 years time when Manny is around 34-35 and might have slowed down a bit, depending on how well Khan progresses in that time, he might stand a chance.

    MIGHT!!!

At this point I don't see how he can beat any of the top 5-6 LWs.

Why are you comparing Khan with Jones Jr and Hearns?

All you asked was which ATG's have suspect chins and I gave you 2 names, I wasn't comparing Khan to them in anyway.

I'm not saying Khan will be an ATG, but if he improves his defence he can go a long way because he's got accumalative power, great handspeed and he's very accurate.

Khan fights him right now, he gets mullered. No question.
I thought that before his and Manny's latest fights, as I suspect did virtually everyone apart from Khan himself.

Give the kid time, because that's what he is...still a kid in the world of boxing. I sincerely hope he comes to terms with that and stops angling for world title fights.

I agree. And I wish Khan well. But as you say, he needs to stop mentioning fighters who would seriously hurt him at this stage of his career and focus on realistic challenges. Rees is mentioned on another thread. This would be a good fight for Khan and good step up in opposition. That's the level he needs to be looking at. Not Pacquiao, JMM, Campbell, Guz, Casa or Katsidis.

Khan would do OK and cause Manny maybe a couple of problems, but Amir would not be able to withstand the pressure for too long and would be KO'd in about round 4.

Not arguing with you as what you have said is95% correct, the only thing I would note is that Hearns and Khan are actually similar in terms of height to weight ratio.

Amir Khan is approximately 5"10-5"11 and fighting at lightweight. This means he is SIGNIFICANTLY taller than the 5"6-5"7 average height. Just as hearns was roughly 6"0 or 6"1? Which in turn was/is roughly 3 or 4 inches taller than the average welterweight (5"8-5"10)

I don't see him beating any consensus top 10 lightweight at present.

He has been down three times in 18 fights - this would not be a problem if his competition level had been of a good standard and against guys generally his own size. Most of his opponents have been superfeathers, with a single lightwelter and the rest light.

The Gomez KD was not a flash one in my book, it was a cuffing shot without full power attached to it (due to body position) whilst the Limond KD was a KO but for the referee forgetting what number came after 6.

He has Ricky Hatton defence with a Herbie Hide chin.

    Bad mix :deal

Honestly? Antillon blows him out same with Peterson as they BOTH have more boxing skill. The only thing I think Khan has on them is reach and maybe some speed over Antillon (Peterson is hella fast).

But, this is just my opinion.

I have only seen 1 Khan fight. So pardon my lack of knowledge on him as a fighter.

pac would KO khan and it would be sad to watch, i would predict around the 5th round. i think khan could win early rounds with his speed and reach but once pac adjusts and lands some big shots. khan will bowe out

What about Yusuke Kobori? Could be an easier route to a world title.

all the guys i have just mentioned had a pretty good chance to beat him and they're not even top 5 LW yet and some outside top 10, i agree though with what you said about peterson and antillon
