If he had like a Prime Morales chin would that make a difference? How good would he be if he did? Was that prescott fight just a bad night for his chin? He's shown a glove can connect his face since then, and he hasnt gone down or wobbled much.. goblins note* im not comparing khan to the great Morales by any means.
Serious note. If anyone took the punches Khan took that night, they'd be KTFO too. Compare the punches Khan took to the ones say Juan Diaz throws. Juan Diaz got hurt by Paulie Malignaggi (LOL). On top of that, Khan had his chin held up in the air, and was throwing the time he got clipped, and it was so early in the fight so he got clipped cold. People were shocked to the fact he even got up the first time. Bad night IMO, but Khans chin is still suspect, no doubt.
If Khan had a granite chin I would wager that he could be a great. Still might be but odds are stacked.
He lacks a lot at present, it is far too early in his career to say. You could make a hell of a lot of very difficult to beat fighters by bestowing them with imaginary attributes.
I don't think it really matters. Khan has improved his defense greatly and couldn't get hit flush even by a speedster like Paulie. If anything I think he is just as fast as anyone at 140lb. But yes, if Amir did have El Terrible's granite chin it would help.
Now that you've mentioned it... is it just me or Khan show traces of a young Morales on looks and style?
Oh please. He got put on ***** street by a ****ing jab. Look, I've been pretty impressed with Khan as of late, but I don't abide BS revisionist history. It's ridiculous to claim that any LW would have been KO'd by those flurries. For his own sake, I hope that Khan was just feeling the ill effects of a hard weight cut in that fight.
Khan reminds me more of a young Oscar. His one serious flaw is his chin. So yes, having a chin like Morales would make a big difference.
Of course it would help. He's got mad skill speed, and his chin is his most obvious weakness. But it's still a weakness, and one that will probably always haunt him and keep him from being great.
