If Andre Ward clearly loses to Carl Froch...how much would his stock drop for you ?

Top competition? Tough challenges? Like whom? Allan Green? Arthur Abraham? More like overrated have-beens or never-weres (Green).
Ward has only ever had one top opponent: Kessler. Froch would be his second. If he lost he would be 1-1. Not exactly ATG material, as some idiots have been posting on the board.

    And pushing with his shoulder.

A guy like Ward should be respected, but he is just to dirty. I thought Hopkins had an ugly style, but he seems like a good sportsman compared to Ward.

Not at all, I expect it to be a pretty even fight.
If it goes to the scorecards in CA we all know Ward is going to win it, but Froch is very capable of stopping opponents also.

I don't rate Ward far above Froch, Kessler and certainly not Bute like some here do.

Well Froch is a top level fighter, so there isn't any shame in losing to him. Of course, Froch isn't deemed as skilled and fast as Ward, so to be outboxed by Froch would be a massive shock - but look at Groves - DeGale recently - the crude "banger" outboxed the skillful Olympian. It can happen.

These two guys have fought the best opposition to make it to the final, they have persevered were others have dropped out. Implying or even saying that Wards stock would drop if he loses to Froch is an insult to Froch, and vise versa. Froch is arguably the most improved, or has shown more variety in his performances than anyone who participated in this tournament. Both deserve their spot in the final, and neither guys stock drops from a loss to the other top guy in the division.

not at all. styles make fights and maybe froch has the style to be ward easily. I doubt it, but if either lose clearly they are still top notch in the smw divsion

If he outclasses Ward to a wide 12 round decision, then yeah, his stock drops a lot. If it's a close loss, none at all as Froch is the real deal.

I expect a pretty close fight.

There can be only one winner in the tourney. So making it to the finals and losing wouldn't be bad at all especially since you beat two of the favorites at the start of the tourney to win it all in Kessler and Abraham. His stock would only drop a little if any IMO.

Only a little. He's overrated as it is. Losing to a B level fighter doesn't mean he's B-. It means he's not B+ as some people claim he is.

If he loses to Froch then his stock will drop slightly but not too much. Froch is a bonafide World Class fighter.

Ward will be thinking i dominated kessler and froch went life and death with him, so if ward does lose it may damage him quite a lot in the head. It will be interesting to see how ward fights on the east coast in a big fight like this, if his level drops he may let froch in for a close fight but no way will froch take a decision off ward, he has to stop him, if lara cant get the nod in atlantic city against williams recently then i wouldnt hold out much hope for froch and the judges, wouldnt be suprised to see him drop a wide decision even if the fight was pretty close

My heart says Froch but head (and Andre's forehead) say Ward UD. Froch Taylor-esque TKO 11.

Froch travelled abroad for all but one of his fights in the super six while Ward has stayed at home as he isn`t mentally strong enough to fight in another top fighters back yard.

Ward has it all to prove and I think he will come up short against Froch in the final.

Ward would just be another American SMW to go with Brewer, Mitchell, Lacy, Taylor, Dirrell, Sheika, Manfredo, G Johnson (fights out of America), Andrade (fights out of America), and many others who couldnt manage to compete at the top European level. There are so many others. Ward would be no different. Still he could have a good career if he stays in America fighting at home
