I don't think so, but you could argue either way. However, two things that are not in question:

1 - Prime 4 prime, Ward would not have beaten Calzaghe.

2 - Ward will not be champ in 10 years, no matter what level of competition.

To early in his career to tell. Good luck to him though, I guess he'll have to fight some of the good but more unknown fighters like Balzay and others for us to see

Ridiculous even attempting to answer this until we have seen Ward against a much more varied selection of competition.

Basically all you are going to get in the main is people choosing on the basis of whether or not they like Calzaghe.

    1. The Ward that beat Kessler beats anyone on Calzaghes resume
    2. Being able to keep yourself peaked for 10+years is tough
    3. Lets see how Ward progresses

Definitely loses to Hopkins, possibly to Eubank also. I have lots of respect for Thimply.

How are we suppose to judge a guy who is still unproven. I mean we know he has the goods which he showed in beating Miranda and Kessler but we need to see a few more to make this kind of judgment.

Eubank was completely drained at 168 when Calzaghe faced him, past prime and fighting on short notice

Ward knocks out all of them violently.

And even though I'm wrong, by the time we'll have a better idea of how to really answer that question this thread will have been long forgotten about and nobody will care what was said anyway.

Yeah, but Eubank could crack, and even past prime was a more complete fighter than Kessler. That fight still isn't a "gimme" for Ward, even if he would have been favored.

With all due respect Joe Clazaghe's resume isn't extremely impressive, Mikkel Kessler and Bernard Hopkins are the best two fighters he faced, Roy Jones was not at his peak when he and Joe fought.

The fight with Bernard Hopkins in my opinion could have gone either way the fight was very close and the score cards reflect that. The with Kessler was very imprssive until I seen Andre Ward Out-Class him with ease. Roy Jones before fighting Joe Clazaghe was knocked out in two rounds and after fighting Joe was knocked out in one round which further reiterates what everyone alreay knew Jones wasn't the same fighter.

I think Andre Ward beat everyfighter Joe Clazaghe ever faced with the exception of Bernard Hopkins, I'm not saying Ward can't beat him I just never tought Joe Really beat him. With that being said I think Ward goes 44-1

To early to tell but it was just put here to see if calzaghe's 46 - 0 is one of the greatest feats in boxing.

Also fights at a higher weight class and all that make it impossible to tell at the moment, but Ward beat the best opponent calzaghe fought so it aint that stupid to make this poll

what was the difference between the kessler that fought Calzaghe and the kessler that fought Ward?

Kessler that fought calzaghe wasnt a favorite to win, but was favorite to beat Ward, i thought Kessler would beat ward and so did many others thats coz not many knew hu ward was

Calzaghe and ward clearly the best 2 smw;s ever. I dont rate RJJ at smw he is actually a LHW. Calzaghe had weak opposition. Ward will surpass his resume in terms of tough fights no problems. Ward may end up the greatest SMW ever. I been saying this for years
