Ward would have lost to dangerous undefeated Lacy
Ward would have lost to Eubank
36 year old Ward I expect would lose to 43 year old Hopkins
Wouldnt be shocked if 35 year old losses to prime undefeated non double vision suffering Kessler who wasnt rusty.
Judging by the way prime Ward struggled with rusty Bika, who old Calzaghe beat when prime and active, I doubt 35 year old Ward could win that.

Ward is in the weakest era of SMWs that I have seen in ages

    Ward will lose 1-2.

The thing is people have no way of knowing how Ward's career will end up.
    It is impossible to tell.
What if a 2nd coming of Michael Spinks at 175 happens 4 years from now?
The best version of Andre Ward will still get knocked out by a Prime 175 Spinks.
What's to say there won't be a 6'3 Spinks in the 175 Division a few years from now?

What if the 168 develop a few Nigel Benn types with more boxing skills a few years down the line?

There is just no way of predicating the future and saying Ward will surpass Calzaghe.

Remember Prime Tyson in 88 had people saying he was on track to surpass Ali. Yet a 6'5 Olympian Kid ended up with the greater legacy.

Bull****. He left the Country only 4 times out of 46 fights. Every fight he had in the UK was half hour plane journey or 2-3 hours by car. He could literally leave his house in the morning and be at the fight venue a few hours later no matter where it was in the UK.

    You're excuses are becoming embarrassing.

  4. Simply put, a scintillating irrefutable post from a poster at the peak of his mercurial powers. Salutations bailey. :deal:happy:happy

Andre Ward fan boys are pathetic.

I compare Ward's win over Kessler to Tyson's win over Golota.

Both fed off the left overs of British ATGS.

Here are some articles on Jeff Lacy

The guy Calzaghe haters love to call a 'bum'

    Fight Report:

Jeff Lacy. He has lived up to his expectations beautifully thus far and that is one reason why he’s currently a -168 betting favorite over Calzaghe. Jeff’s fought a string of quality opponents in his last five fights and knocked out each of them except the extremely durable Omar Shieka. Going 5-0 with 4 KOs against a group of guys with a collective record of 154-16-2 is damn impressive. It has also given him invaluable experience that he’ll surely draw on tonight. Lacy can punch, is aggressive and is extremely tough. He has stared hype in the face and scowled at it, and this evening he will not be daunted by the hostile environment, the 2:00 am local start time or most of all.

The three largest factors I see determining the outcome of this fight are Lacy’s ring pressure, Lacy’s power and Joe’s heart.
Jeff’s pressure will determine where the fight will be fought. Calzaghe will not be able to keep Jeff off him so he’s going to have to either dig in and trade or run and try and avoid a KO. With an arena full of rowdy Englishman cheering his every move I have a feeling he’ll opt for war.
Once these two start to go at it I expect Jeff’s power to send Joe down. Ultimately it will be what gives him the victory. Joe’s heart and determination will determine the length of the fight. We may see a slow KO over a couple rounds that include several knockdowns or we may see one big flurry that sends him down for good. Either way, Lacy is going to overwhelm Calzaghe in a short and brutal beatdown.
    PICK: Lacy TKO 4

Roy Jones Jr on Jeff Lacy

    ROY JONES:
"Lacy wins, and I'll tell you why. One of the main factors that would lead to a Lacy win is Calzaghe's heart.
"I'm not saying Calzaghe dosen't have heart, I'm saying he has too much!
"When Lacy nails Calzaghe and hurts him then Joe will try to get payback, and then he will be open to really get hurt - which he will."

    James Toney on JEFF LACY

    JAMES TONEY:

"Joe Calzaghe-Jeff Lacy is a mismatch. Lacy is going to destroy that boy. He's too strong, he's a fighter - he's proved himself.

"Calzaghe never did anything. He beat Chris Eubank nine years ago, but what has he done since then? He's a joke, that's why he keeps pulling out of fights.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out of this one. Everybody in the UK is over-protected, but Lacy will be OK, because he's a fighter."

All you people calling Lacy a bum, are you guys smarter then professional boxing writers and world champions?

Jeff Lacy had great power and was hyped to be the next big thing.

He was predicated by many expert boxing writers and champions to beat Joe Calzaghe. He was ****ing raped to death in the ring in a brutal display of dominance by Calzaghe.

It had nothing to do with Lacy being a bum. He wasn't. It had everything to do with Joe simply out classing Lacy.
Calzaghe's career and resume is seriously under rated.

Being based in Cardiff then going to fight in Manchester is no different from being based in, for instance, Washington then going to fight in Las Vegas. Its going from one part of the country to another. Its still not leaving your country to fight in a different one.

Calzaghe (46 fights and his fights overseas are one against McIntyre in Denmark, one against Veit in Germany and two in America against Hopkins and Jones) left his country to fight overseas the same amount of times that Bernard Hopkins did (Hopkins has had 62 fights and fought outside the US in two fights against Pascal in Canada, one fight against Mercado in Ecuador, and one fight against Anibal Miranda in France), and has had one more fight in a foreign country than Roy Jones Jr did (Jones has had 63 fights and fought outside the US against Danny Green in Australia, Lebedev in Russia and Glazewski in Poland).

Nobody gives a **** what you think. You scour the internet for information , come back here to post it and you think you're a boxing historian. All for the main purpose of arguing with people cos you got nothing else to do.

Ward has fought 7 times outside his state and only 5 times in Oakland. Calzaghe doubles him over for home fights. That agrument has been nullified, nothing you can say can change the reality of the situation. Take defeat on that point like a man and move on.
