Despite him being that large and heavy , his power is still very average . All that weight doesn't really seem to help him .

I never blame fighters for movement and being a hardcore fan of the sport and favoring the defensive style best, I would never say a fighter is "running" like other ******s with no clue whatsoever about the sport.

Now on to Lara's performance. Sure he used ring generalship and movement to his advantage but Alvarez sure as hell wasn't missing all of his shots and not even close. There were times when Alvarez actually hurt Lara with his body shots and forced his hands down. While Lara's movement is great, he barely landed anything significant in this fight and Alvarez did block many of Lara's predictable one twos just like Lara blocked many of Alvarez' body shots. You can't win a fight, in my book, moving around and throwing one twos with hardly any power behind them when your opponent is in your face throwing and landing power shots to the body. The average fans are easily sold when an opponent lands to the head and completely forget body shots, fair advanced scoring obviously cares which is why Lara lost.

This fight was hardly a "schooling" by any means and not even close. Real schooling fights are those like Hopkins vs Pavlik, Martinez vs Pavlik, Froch vs Abraham, Whitaker vs Chavez Sr., RJJ vs Toney, RJJ vs Ruiz, Mayweather vs Alvarez...etc. A schooling is when an advanced fighter never allows his opponent to show signs of life or existence in a fight and is completely figured out and shut out. Clearly, Alvarez was in that fight landing his own and troubling Lara.

I'm surprised anyone can even entertain the idea of Andy Lee fighting cotto, never mind winning.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread (7 posts back and 4 months ago), Cotto would would be the underdog in this one.
