.....then Joe Daddy better be ready for an ass whooping! http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=news.detail&gid=9508
Did you read the article? BJ says he found the guy that will eventually bring out the best in him.....Watch for the BJ / GSP rematch to be the biggest and one of the greatest fights in MMA history :deal
I don't find it a very promising thing for a fighter to have to continually say that "this time" they are training hard or that "this time" theyve figured out what was wrong with their training. We've heard the same thing 100 different ways from Penn, its lost any credibility a long time ago. Hes got the game to be the best in the world at 155, but if he just expects to show up and win because he's BJ Penn, Stevenson can and will beat him.
Not positive about that last bit, but I agree with the overall post. The fight itself is an interesting call. Very hard to ever decide with BJ.
Every time a fighter is interviewed he says it's the hardest he's ever trained and he's in the best shape of his life and he's going to knock the other guy out......has anybody ever heard a fighter going in sayin ...I havn't bothered to train and will probobly get my ass handed to me on a platter....?
Pretty much and its because this version of GSP is a huge obstacle and BJ loves that challenge. If he beats GSP Id have to coinsider him the greatest ever in this sport by miles
Yes. No Doubt. If BJ beats Stevenson, then beats Sherk. Even if he skips Sherk and goes straight for GSP later this year. If he wins, he is P4P #1 and the greatest fighter ever. No question. Actually, this scenario isn't too far out of the question. After BJ beats Daddy. GSP doesn't have any other real threats to him.
by miles?...because he fought at bigger weights and lost???....he has wins over Hughes and Gomi.....but is he really the God that everybody has made him out to be?? the man is one of the hardest guys to beat ...no doubt....but most of his career consist's of would of could of should of's which to me doesn't count. I think Joe give's him a great battle and doesn't get dominated by the "prodigy"
besides Fitch....if Fitch wins his next fight he is more than deserving of a shot.....maybe Swick moving down to 170...but besides that GSP is a league above everyone except B.J. Question is would B.J rather fight GSP or Matt Hughes? I would certainly think Hughes after the way Hughes pinned him and punched B.J. out like a helpless child ......they are 1-1 and a grudge match would be perfect. but beating Shawn Sherk might come more intriging to B.J since they have already had words exchanged.
Listen to me If BJ beats GSP. yes he will be the greatest by miles! Beats Hughes in Hughes Absolute prime and beating GSP in his Absolute prime constitutes that. Forget that he fights from 155 to Heavyweight..thats icing on the cake. You have to remember that A Silva does not have this kind of challenge so does Fedor. BJ is a legit 155!! and a flabby 166..GSP is a mountain of a challenge..you seen GSP lately??
So what your sayin is if GSP wins it really doesn't count because he is bigger...but if B.J. wins he is the greatest of all time?....what would GSP have to gain from this fight?
BJ/GSP gives me butterflies...I'm actually a little nervous for GSP but balanced against the risk is the reward of another excellent win right at his peak...:think Screw middlemen, I want this fight now :|
I'm not scared for GSP..I don't think B.J. can KO him on his feet..and GSP has proved almost flawless on the ground...and I don't see B.J taking down GSP. B.J might nulify GSP when he is on top..but that doesn't win rounds......I see a repeat of the first fight....B.J will have to tough a time GSP's athletism to win the fight. i'd rather see B.J. beat Sherk or Hughes.
