Well I dont think they fight right away...If BJ puts on a mini winning streak..he'll be back as the imaginary p4p king.

IF GSP beats him he will certainly gain just because alot of people (and fighters) think that BJ is the best p4p.

Like you say though GSP beating PENN will not garner the same accolade for GSP as BJ beating GSP for BJ..

Its just because BJ is the legitimately smaller man and has fought Renzo, Rodrigo, Lyoto and guys bigger than him. Thats just the way it works. Meanwhile the perception is that GSP can fight at 185 no problem

BJ can absolutely KO GSP...BJ has a better stand up that GSP. GSPs standup is a bit overrated. His form is excellent but he is not a dynamic striker..I guarantee he takes this to the ground

Meanwhile Ive not seen BJ hurt.

To be absolutely objective...BJ must do the split sprawl for 5 rounds and hope to manouver to take GSPs back or work a crazy submission from that position

he cannot afford to be on his back for this fight or its an easy UD for GSP

yes, but if you fight at a higher weight and lose you don't get a free pass....sorry and Rodrigo isn't exactly a legend and Machida as good as he is is a defensive fighter anyhow. So if GSP fights Anderson and loses....he get's a free pass right?

B.J's standup might be close to GSP's but when's the last time B.J KO'd anybody on his feet?.....I don't think he ever has....GSP is fine on his feet or in B.J's guard...non the less UD for GSP every time they fight.

If GSP beats Silva then you have to consider GSP p4p 1 no one even close again just because Silva is a total beast. It hurts being in his guard let alone standing up with him.

Its the challenge and difficulty factor. No one can beat GSP at 170 let alone a 155 BJ beating him thats crazy. Same with A Silva, no one at 185 comes close let alone a welter

O.K. who would you rather B.J fight? Hughes, Gsp, or Sherk....I think the Sherk fight will be next...because of obvious reasons but I still would rather see him fight Hughes...because of their last fight...but I'm not sure if that fight will ever happen.

Its hard to say hes hurt a few fighters with his heavy hands. Rare is a one punch KO in the sport let alone a guy who fights out of his weight. At lightweight hes got substantial power.

I just think hes slightly better standup than GSP, he nullified GSPs arsenal the first fight..he is fearless and welcomes exchanges yet somewhat elusive and has a granite chin.

Id favor GSP but BJs got the best chance to beat him

Ohh Sherk no doubt.. just because of the bad blood brewing and frankly Sherks a nice guy but I want to see him lose because UFC has been building him up quite a bit.

If was not so long ago when he was being thrown like a rag doll by GSP..people have forgotten that

Hed be in for a big surprise if he thinks BJ is Hermes. BJ might take him down. And I just hate steroids

Will believe it when I see it.. Haven't believed much that has come out of BJ's mouth about training in a long time..

However, you have to entertain the idea of him getting into shape and training hard.. Dropping that kind of weight is serious move for someone like BJ, who has been gifted just about every natural ability and athleticism under the sun.
