If any, what is the real advantage of being southpaw?

If the majority of the fighters were southpaws, then the small advantage would go to the conventional stance.

I am essentially orthodox, but primarily because I am so left handed it is untrue.

My best punches are a left jab and straight left - with the left hook not far behind..... so when I spar with a friend of mine, who does Muay Thai, I switch hit constantly to get my shots off.

 

Throwing the left jab feels great, right? It feels so heavy and stiff, you almost feel like you can punch through a wall.

 

My jab is really good...... but my hook is pretty weak, end up hitting with the forearm...... probably due to playing so much rugby and clumping people with that.... or just being **** at boxing!

My right arm is useless, it has been on sale on eBay before but attracted no bids.

 

Yes. Same disadvantages apply, only the playing field is level since they both have the same disadvantage.
