Curious, when was Archie's best night at heavy H2H wise?

There are very good heavyweights the Mongoose can beat. Just don't think SJF is one.

I'd guess around 1954, when he beat Bob Baker, 1955, when he beat Nino Valdes.

The Valdes fight is sandwiched between 2 x LHW defences, yet Moore weighed 196.5lbs for it. Remarkable, for that day and age, that he lost 21.5lbs for his defence against Bobo Olsen just 7 weeks later.

Frazier was more methodical and efficient than Rocky. No surprise if Arch enjoys some success early but Joe becomes all too much for Moore by round 6.

Agree with what most are saying here, smoking Joe Frazier by KO somewhere in the mid to late rounds.

He would sleep well in the hospital on his 'best night'.

he lived & fought in an age where 5'10" plus men grew into HW, though many of them Are/Were not True Heavies,

yes many fighters then Lived through 3 weight division, i.e Middlweight cum L-HW, cum HW... IF, for example their 'leveled off weight was L-HW then their attempt at late career 'heavier' status only Marks them all the more better at their True Weights and for Moore that is L-HW, which of course we already know he IS not just one of the TOP L-HWs, but equally One of the Best Fighters period.

I personally believe ALL fighters should only be Rated at 'their' true weight, again ANYTHING above or below Only ADDs to their Greatness.

Len Harvey is probably the BEST Example, Harvey fought in all of the 8 Divisions, and was noted and also TOP from WW - HW, but Harvey was a L-HW, the rest only complements his overall greatness, as far as I'm concerned, and it is basically the same for ALL Fighters.

One TOP and Noted levelled out at their True Weight Division!

Possibly the worst match up possible for him.

Archie crafty and powerful could find some openings and possibly hurt or drop Joe but I think Joe gets stronger and the fight goes on.

Joe by late stop or UD in a close fight.

Archie would not fight him like Quarry or Bonavena, he would box, grab and bang when he could.

I see Frazier's pressure being a strong factor, but Archie always could KO something he could hit.

Archie does well for the first two rounds. But Joe has him out in five.

I think Archie took Marciano a lot closer to the line than he is given credit for.

It simply isn’t always apparent with guys like Marciano who give 110% of themselves every time out - going into every fight with a kill or be killed attitude.

I could see Rocky really smarting with the punches old Arch was putting to him, (obviously including the KD) - before Moore eventually succumbed, no longer able to absorb Rocky’s own, incessant go forward attack.

Def. can’t rule out Arch stunning/dropping the relatively slow starting Frazier also. But ultimately, I remain with my pick of a TKO 6 in Frazier’s favour.
