If Arreola diets like crazy now, will his strength and energy suffer?

Let's assume he loses 5 pounds a week now so he loses a total of 40 pounds until fight night. This is very possible at his mass level but at the same time losing weight so rapidly will also mean he loses a lot of muscle and strength.

If Arreola sticks with a die hard diet and workout plan from now on, will he possibly come in at the same 250 lbs but be much weaker and more sluggish than in his last fight?

And what kind of diet are we talkin about? Arreola not eating the 13th Snickers Bar in one day? Let's just hope that on game day, he unleashes all he's got on Vitali, cuz it's his only chance. Then it's all over after Vitali establishes the jab.

If he loses 5+ lbs a week he'll probably like 1-2lbs of pure muscle fibre every week. It is physiologically impossible to lose just fat and not any muscle when one's weight is dropping at this rapid pace. Unless he does testosterone or some type of roids.

You don't gain muscle from eating junk food, so if he just goes on high -quality whole foods and cuts aout the sugar, trans - fats, sodas and all that crap, he will positively affect his muscular recovery in training. And it is physiologically possible to lose 5 pounds a week without losing muscle, because when you are severly overweight, the body has stored a lot of water, which goes first. Some people lose several pounds of fecal matter when they clean out their diet.

Some joke, signed up to be biggest fight of his career and he's so unprepared. If he gets a beating its his own fault.

It is not a good idea to lose that much weight. Drastic weight variation is not good. He is prone to gaining fats. But let's not forget this is not body building and everyone is not on steroids.

Arreola if he had like 6 months off from an actual boxing match could very well lose his BF and get to 10 per cent and then train to get back to normal performance.

But if Arreola spends his time trying to lose fat in preparation for Vitali then it could lead to disaster.

Dont see why fat chris dosent follow the old-

boiled chicken, fish, pasta, rice, sweet potatoes
    eggs and water diet.

Plenty of carbs and protein and will not lose energy.

To get down to what his real weight should be, early 230s at worst, yes it would.

Don't worry though, he'll probably just half-ass it and come in the 250s again. Strength and energy intact, footspeed and conditioning absent.

Could he even make Heavy if he wasnt a fat ass? His frame seems that of a LHW . Losing fat should increase his energy .

He was fighting at 175 when he won the national golden gloves. He was like 19 or something then though. He's a naturally big dude. Even if he was in ideal shape, I think he'd have trouble making the cruiserweight limit. Don't forget that he's a solid 6'4".
