This is more of a fight, not between a Ukranian/Eastern European and a Mexican/first heavyweight of note of Mexican decent ( or whatever the Arreola is calling himself)........its more of a battle of a disciplined, professional athlete who has the will power and self motivation to get himself into a supreme condition. And a fighter who, well...............just can't. LOL

I hope Arreola gets his ass handed to him. Maybe that'll be somewhat of a slight wakeup call to the other obese heavyweights who have no self control over their eating/training, whatever. If you lack something as important as the vital aspect of eating for your profession, you deserve to be thoroughly embarrassed when challenging a top condition althlete for a world title.

There is little room in this struggling to get back on its feet divsion for an obese, no self control fighter like Arreola. And there is CERTAINLY no room at the top for someone like that.

Arreola isnt that overweight . he only weighs 265 pounds now and he says he will be 245 pounds come fight time . so he only has too loose 20 pounds which isnt a lot . he is by no means obese . he is just carryying a few pounds like all fighters between fights. dont be so hard on the guy.

But he needs to be about 235 or less to stand any chance in my opinion.

the guyis very overweight. it doesnt suit him at all, he is pudgy, round and relativly slow...he is winning due to his ability to fight real well, but he has got to be conditioned.

lets say arreola wins, he still needs to be in shape for his next fight... it's just that in his first title tilt he is takign it so pedestrianly

Yeah, but you can get the body hard but it doesn't mean ****. It's not just about losing weight, Arreola should be primed for the biggest fight of his life, instead he's the biggest I've seen him! :-(

he is not very overweight . you make it sound like he is obese. he is a bit overweight. he weighs 265 pounds . he only has too loose 30 pounds to be in top shape . All fighters put on about 30 pounds between fights its perfectly normal . He just has to shed some puppy fat.

ONLY 30 LBS? Thats HUGE. It sucks your energy and the training suffers due to training to lose weight NOT training to get in cardio and muscle shape. 2 different things

Say what you want but IMO not staying in shape when you know you will be fighting throughout the year just shows a lack of commitment and dedication:good

1)he ain't 265 pounds. maybe 265 stone, maybe 265 kilos, maybe 265 small children. but no 265 pounds.

2)now to chef's point: where your ENTIRE camp is losing weight (ala Ricky Hatton) you don't learn any skills (and he needs to learn some skills), you don't get in proper sparring, you don't get cardio and muscle as said above and you'll peak about 3 or 4 weeks AFTER the fight

arreola is too fat now, he'll be too fat then and charging at vitali straight out will just give him an asthma attack.
