If B-Hop wins this weekend, at what point would you consider it a "schooling"

How can you call a fight where a guy has to use every trick in the book to win a 'schooling'? What if kovalev wins 5 rounds clearly then Bhop wins 7 close ones (not saying that will be the case btw) and gets the decision...that to you would be a schooling?

Sounds like your just desperate to rub it in peoples faces if Bhop wins by preparing a bit of a ridiculous reason beforehand in order to scream about how kovalev got schooled...

Bhop v Pavlik was a schooling.

If it resembles even half of that I would call it a masterclass.

Actually you're an idiot. IF Hopkins wins i expect it to be a close decision. But the only way Hop can keep it there is by giving Kovalev looks hes never seen before. And IF Hopkins pulls this out it very well should make Kov a better fighter. Sounds like you're just desperate to disagree with my opinion.

I like the phrase "schooling" but as said it can be overused and the manner of the win should be taken into account.I cant say BHop has schooled many lately as i think hes an habitual fouler and cant give him full credit due to this fact.
One fight i think he was superb in was against Tito although he was made for him.

I don't disagree with your opinion on the fight I think Bhop could frustrate kovalev and nick a points win, it's definitely a possibility. I just disagree with you that that would constitute a 'schooling'

Fair enough. My point is though if Hop is doing things hes never seen before hes not winning because hes the more dominant fighter, but the smarter one, hence the term schooling. I wasnt trying to use the term in the childish way to say he's kicking his ass.

After Kovalev doesn't trouble Hopkins in the first few rounds you'll know its gonna be a schooling.

I think it goes to the cards and Hopkins wins very lopsided. Hopkins has only lost to fighters with superior handspeed, and those losses are always close fights.

Only one way you can school someone, completely shut them out on the cards 10-2 AT LEAST. Make it look easy.

Ah right I understand you now, as in using things kovalevs never seen before to get himself the win, teaching him those veteran tricks. We're on the same page now :good

Is it even possible to post on here without an urban dictionary?

When Hopkins lands his first headbutt then claims he was hit low, these sycophants will start with their low I.Q. "school" B.S.!

Now lets be honest just for once guys & answer this......

When has Bernard Hopkins been the recipient of a close decision win.
Calzaghe, Taylor twice were all 3 fairly close. Did Hopkins get the nod?? On my scorecard Hopkins won all 3 of those fights. They were political decisions.
All I hope is the referee , David Fields who I am not familiar with, calls the fight straight down the middle & the judges render a proper verdict with the best man winning the fight. I know its a long shot but I can hope.
In saying that only one more thing to say.....

Can't see how you'd describe that as a schooling. I myself feel that Lara deserved a close PTS decision or at the least a draw, but he failed to convince either the judges or even the majority of boxing fans (at least going by the responses on the forums) - so I guess Erislandy can't be much of a teacher.

For me to even think of a fight as a 'schooling' (though I find the term distasteful anyway in a boxing context), I'd have to be looking at something like Rigo vs Agbeko, rather than a closeish fight where the overmatched guy was able to make up for his deficiencies with grit and sheer come forward stubbornness.

Guess it's a matter of opinion though.

Let's have more debate about modern teaching standards.

What does old prof Bernard H. Hopkins have to do in his squared college faculty to be considered a 'schooling'?
