    You know the funny thing about that whole thing RC is I've read countless things throughout the yrs that say Baer wasnt Jewish at all. German and Scott's Irish is what I've read. Baer supposedly wore the Jewish star for his manager and to gain more publicity at the time. Max jr never mentioned anything about Jewish ancestry. Arcel claimed Baer was German and he saw him in the shower as proof lol.

    I think Schmeling could likely adjust in a rematch, he did well in rematches until Joe! Timeframe is important and, unpopular an opinion as it is, I think Sharkey at peak, was better than either.

    Yeah Bob, there's always been controversy about that...but one thing's for sure, Maxie sure got worked up for Schmeling for their bout.
