I have never seen this guy or heard about him before, his bro is better obviously.

He has no power obviously so that means no matter what happens Canelo wins on points.

Alvarez should be fighting Golovkin, not Smith. Who is Smith? No way will I watch such a fight, much less pay for it...............

No, just no. Beefy is a tough scr@ppy kid, but basic as hell. I may not think Canelo's an elite boxer but he's got good skills and does some things very well. Liam's best hope is to try and push the pace and try to turn it into a brawl but in the end his chances are slim to... very slim. National level talent and even then only because the UK JMW roster is pretty thin right now.

The size difference between the two is noticeable but unless beefy hasn't been getting out of 1st gear for his past few fights I can't see him making much headway.

This. I have a feeling Canelo is struggling with weight lately, and if Liam can turn it into a close up brawl he can try gas Canelo late. It would be karmic justice.

I think it's funny how so many people don't rate Smith simply because they haven't watched him fight or heard of him prior to Canelo.

Liam Smith is actually one of the most under-rated fighters today, people like yourself go on boxrec, see his ranking and KO% and assume he's no good. Since Smith has upped his level of opposition he's gone on an 8 KO streak so his power is stronger than his KO% suggests.

This fight is way more competitive than people are giving it credit.

I was at the Kelly fight and I've followed him some. He looks OK at domestic level but unless the big event brings something out in him he ain't cut out for the world stage. Tough Kid though, good chance he'll go the distance but lose wide on points.

The other Liam is the guy who would beat Canelo.

For today's specials we have a choice of a prime cut British beefy steak, or an anaemic, dry chicken breast.

Smith is perfect for Canelo to look good. This is the type of opponent he needs to look good and get some fans back from the GGG duck.
