If Bernard completely kicks Calzaghe's butt...where will he be as an ATG?

I'd have trouble not putting him in the top 20, at least next to Marvin Hagler, if Hopkins pulls this off.

Not only will he have been a top 3 middleweight all time, but will have wins over the the reigning Lt. Heavyweight champ, and arguably the greatest Supermiddleweight of all time, while he's arguably in his prime.

    It'd be a hell of a resume...

    Trinidad
    Wright
    De La Hoya
    Tarver
    Calzaghe
    Johnson
    Joppy
    Holmes
    Echols
    Eastman

    and Hakkar, of course.

But four of those guys are HOF bound, probably top 100 ATG's, and Tarver is a damn good Lt. HW champ.

Top 20 what? At middleweight? Do you count anything he's done since Tarver as a measuring stick against Hagler at 160?

So I take it you wouldn't be too impressed with a Hopkins victory?

If he beat Calzaghe convincingly, his ranking at middleweight wouldn't change. I bring this up because I've heard people say they'd put him above Monzon and Hagler at 160. For me, he's number 5 there and that won't change unless somebody else surpasses him (unlikely).

P4P, I'd rank him above Hagler and Monzon though. He'd fall anywhere between 20-25, and above Floyd Mayweather for that matter.

Look for people to downplay Calzaghe if he loses on Saturday. It will be a shame because Calzaghe is still a great fighter but he just doesn't have Bernards' record.

Top 30, yes, in over Hagler, still below Monzon though, probably.

when he kicks jc ass i think he should be considered p4p 1 again.cause hell tarver will lose to chad and bhop will beat chad.hell he would be undisputed again a light heavy were it all started and mega win over jc.

sorry mayweather for you to compete with that you would have to beat up oscar again and it cant be no spilt win weather the judges or bias or not and then face the winner of cotto and margo and also beat them in convincing fashion.

Not only his wins but his losses are making him look better. Two controversial losses vs. THE best US talent at the time he was 41 (Taylor) and a closer loss to Jones than any other elite fighter in Jones' prime is a very important thing. And he was far from the Hopkins who kicked Tito's ass.

Jones vs. Toney: Jones barely lost a round, put Toney on his ass
Griffin I: DQ of course, but Griffin II: 1st round KO
Jones vs. Hill: brutal body shot
Jones stopped Harding, Woods, easily defeated Gonzalez and Ruiz at HW
But vs. Hopkins, it was like 116-112!

And Hopkins can say that he's got two STUNNING victories over the two Jones-beaters, Johnson (TKO) and Tarver (119-109) so Hopkins' HOF career is moving up even is his losses...

Defeating Calzaghe at 43 would be stunning. P4P#1 IMO and a very high place at the ATGs.

I already consider him that. After all, he did beat Tarver (you could make a case he was pfp 15 at the time) and Wright (who was pfp top 5)
