If Beterbiev wins, what are the chances of him and Usyk at cruiser?

I know Usyk said he would only fight Fury and AJ, but he almost immediately seemed to walk that back saying he would think about a Dubois rematch. It was only about three months ago his stated plan was to return to cruiser and fight for another two years, and he also at one point said all options were on the table, so with four distinct answers given in four months regarding his future, I don't think Usyk knows what he wants.

    Beterbiev wants it...

I see two obstacles (besides Bivol)...

    1) Putting the best Ukrainian against the best Russian is something that might be problematic, and...

    2) This might be a good fight for the hardcore fans who know their history, but I am not sure if casual fans are hip.

    What do y'all think?

I am a fan of both, but this fight doesn't really do much for Usyk's legacy considering he has beaten super heavyweights

Its too high risk a fight. Usyk would probably win but he will need to lose 10-12 pounds of weight. I suspect cruiserweight Usyk used to come in around 210 pounds on fight night and now he is 220-223. So losing some weight at this stage will cause issues.

Usyk's advantages in work rate vs bigger men disappear vs Beterbiev who can throw a lot of punches. Beterbiev, being a shorter man, can also work his body far mor effectively and consistently.

If Usyk wins, it does little for his legacy. If he loses a decision, its a major setback.

Usyk needs to stay at heavy. Fight Parker, or fight winner or Bakole Kabayel.

He won't be effective against Usyk. He gets hit a lot, even Yarde roughed him up. He relies solely on power, knowing he will KO his lesser opponents in late rounds. Usyk is too smart to give him this opportunity.

He was very effective vs Usyk in amateurs despite the fights being 3 rounds, large gloves and head gear, all things that disfavoured Beterbiev. Usyk would be favoured but by no means would it be one sided.

I'd watch, but not a fan of the whole idea (the match, Usyk moving down, or Beterbiev moving up).

I want to see it and there will be no excuses after, as Beterbiev is much smaller and older. If he wins, it's game over for fanboys.

Usyk said it himself, he needs to eat a lot and stay active to be at that weight, he wants to come down, SO I don't see any problems.

Money will be there, fans wants to see two undisputed champions fight and it will be second P4P boxer on Beterbievs resume.

HE managed to drop and hurt him at least two times in 3 rounds, imagine what he can do in 12 rounds.

Beterbiev gets hit less per round and his opponents have a lower connect % than supposed defensive genius Usyk

are you kidding me, i want to see it just for the russian- ukrainian angle. if he can dispatch bivol in impressive fashion, that would cement him as a great at 175, and make a much prettier scalp. he has to get past bivol first, which i dont think he will. but if he stops him, the record starts to get legendary.

Great fight but the chance of it happening near-zero because the risk-reward ratio simply doesn’t make sense for Usyk after he’s made serious money at heavyweight. There’s a reason why he only wants to fight Fury and Joshua from now on

If Beterbiev was already a cruiser and was making his way to Hw then fine. But one old man jumping up in weight vs another coming down doesn't appeal too much to me

Forget the amateurs. Usyk is a much bigger man. In fact Usyk is a fully fledged Heavyweight now. He is not small and the cut would be tough

Beterbiev beats a drained fighter or Usyk beats an old pumped up LHW

Not a fan of this fight
