If Bhop beat Calzaghe, would you rate him above Floyd as ATG?

If Bhop were to beat Calzaghe at the age of 42, I think I would rate him above Floyd all time. It would be a far greater accomplishment than any win of Floyd's...

In fact it would catapult him really ****ing high, defo top 40 for me.

Just about but not quite. He would have beaten a much better fighter than Floyd has ever beaten.

The winner of B Hop and Calzaghe earn themselves a top 50 position of all time.

    It's all relative.

Some people have Roy in the top 25, which I think is laughable.

Generally speaking, the 3 of them are top 75 type guys.

If BHop beats Calzaghe, all he would have done is beaten a feather fisted, blown up Super Middleweight who was well past his prime in my opinion.

Nard being ranked ahead of Floyd really isn't all that wild. After he throttles Calzahge, many people will want to rank him ahead of Mayweather.

I will answer your question though.

Save for Floyd moving up and becoming linear at 154 against Forrest and Spinks, there is nothing he could to rank over Hopkins if he clearly beat Calzaghe, a win over Cotto and Williams both just won't do it.

Forrest is Floyd's ultimate stylistic nightmare, Calzaghe at this stage in Hopkins career is his.

Sure BigReg, I agree that if he beat Calzaghe that Floyd is left in the dust.

Now, what if Calzaghe doesn't just beat Hopkins, but crucifies him and stops him?:yep

    Any credit to Joe?

I think he meant wild in the sense Mary will never beat Joe Calzaghe

    He is of course correct

From the boxing point of view, Bernard's wins over Winky Wright and Joey Calzaghe mean more than Floyd's wins over Hoya and Hatton because the former was/is not expected to and the latter was... So it would still have a lot to do with Mayweather's five divisions championships and undefeated record and with Bernard's 20 middleweight title defenses in 10 years and 8 months. It will always be very hard to compare RJJ, B-Hop and PBF... But if Joe Calzaghe beats Bernard soundly, Roy loses to Tito and Floyd wins another smart decision over the likes of Hoya or Cotto, it would be very hard to dispute that Floyd accomplished more.

No, it's a lose/lose situation for Joe. Even if he gives Hopkins the Lacy treatment, it's no big deal, Hopkins is a 43 year old has been anyway.
