If Bhop beat Calzaghe, would you rate him above Floyd as ATG?

It's a difficult one but I'd have to say yes. Calzaghe is immensely talented & live, a win over Joe would place him above Floyd in my mind. I think he will do it as well by close UD. Those predicting a KO win for Joe are dreaming.

    Didn't seem like it

But then again you must have taken as many blows to the head as old Mary is going to get come April 12th if you actually think he's going to win

Hopkins is a sentimental pick. I'm sure as hell not participating in any avatar or time off bets, and I'm not putting any money on this fight. And yes, it's hate for Calzaghe. I'm an admitted Calzaghe hater, although I think he's a great fighter.

What if Calzaghe did a Hopkins-Woods-Dawson ender and retired undefeated and all wins were legit, would he be the best of the generation?

No but he'd be close. That long string of WBO defences means I can never place him above Hopkins or Jones I'm afraid. Calzaghe wasted about five years of his career which is hugely regrettable.

Although I think JC wins a wide decision. I dont think n a stoppage win for Joe is an impossibility. Hopkins is 43 and likes to fight at his own pace - which is slow. He takes break in the middle of rounds. Calzaghe will be on his arse from the word go. It wont necersarilly be Joe Calzaghe power which stops him, it could just be straight up relentlesness.

But he'd have better wins than Hopkins does by far, and no losses. I can never rank him over Jones.

I'm talking about ranking Joe over Joy Boy specifically if my scenerio is the case.

Hopkins has never looked close to being stopped before & he will be making Joe look silly at times even at his age. It will be close but Hopkins will win this. I think Joe may even suffer a Kabary Salem style knockdown in this fight where he is no way hurt but just caught off balance & embaressed.

No. Woods is an overrated fighter who was already thoroughly pummeled by Roy Jones, Hopkins was an old man, and Dawson was still green. Those would be my excuses.

I disagree. TFFP could only come up with eight the other day & two of them were Chris Eubank & one was Mario Veit.

    That's a big "if"

But if Hopkins did beat Calzaghe, I would easily have him over Floyd. He would be around the top 15 ever and beating Calzaghe would not only be his best win, but the best win out of he and Floyd.

And with Joy Boy you can totally kill his competition -

Castillo - Overrated and 1 dimensional, a poor mans Chavez and beat him first go around.

Corrales - Top fighter, but not very skilled and glass chin.

    Judah - Please.

    DLH -

    Hatton - :rofl

However, I don't do this, though I do have issue's with his 2007 joke of a year.

If he finished in the scenerio I gave his resume would look like this -

Eubank, Reid, Woodhall, Sheika, Mitchell, Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins, Woods & Dawson.

Hopkins if he loses to Calzaghe -

Joppy, Echolsx2, Tito, Winky, Eastman, Holmes & Tarver

How could Bernard possibly be ranked over Joe if he loses to Joe and then Joe beat Woods and Dawson, or just Dawson alone.

I also can see JC winning a decision ( not wide b.c. it's Vegas and Hopkins). Bernard's age has nothing to do because he still counters harder than Joe and accurate. Joe's relentlessness only takes to referees' interventions in England - if Calzaghe comes slappin with the inside of his glove non-stop, Bernard breaks his action with a counter right that will drop him... I still don't buy that Joe will have the guts to be all over Bernard but in case he does that more than posing n moving around, it's Joey C all the way.
