Just an observation I made after watching some highlights of Calzaghe vs Biks, I see Hops upsetting Calzaghes style with his hitting low on the blind side of the ref.

Also watching Byron Mitchel and Karebi Salem fights....Calzaghe was hurt by both (Right hands) and also hurt bad to the body, Hopkins is an excellent Body Puncher.

Did'nt Codrington hurt Bika? Calzaghe wasn't able to do this, he seems to overwelm guys.

    its hard to Tag B-Hop

Calzaghe ended up beating all of the above, too. In fact, he stopped Mitchell in the same round he was dropped. I don't think any of those fights are indicators as to how this one's going to play out anyway as none of the fighters are particularly comparable.

Stopping De La Hoya with a body shot doesn't indicate that Joe's going to face the same fate, either.

calzaghe will treat hopkins with the same kind of respect he treated kessler with ... he won't allow himself to be drawn onto the inside.

Bika is a very hard tough guy. I think he is a little more physical then hopkins is. Which made it harder for joe to fight. Having said that I expect the hopkins Calzaghe fight to play out in similiar fashion to the Bika calzaghe.

I understand what you're saying and it's a good observation. However, Calzaghe won't be fighting stupid against Hopkins and Bika has a lot more stamina than Hopkins. He's also dirtier. Bika will have given Calzaghe a harder fight than Hopkins will, even though Hopkins is much more intelligent, cunning and experienced. Bika, also, doesn't slow down or tire down the stretch...think about that...

Calzaghe's mistake against Bika was trying too hard for American TV. The press over here were making a big issue of the fight being broadcast in the U.S and Calzaghe went out and tried too hard to put on a show. He could have made this fight much easier if he'd utilised his boxing skills more. Also Bika may not be the slickest boxer around but he appeared to be very strong.

I've watched the Mitchell fight a number of times and Mitchell was landing massive shots to Calzaghe's body and definitely hurting him.

Um Calzaghe dominated the fight despite the cut from one of Bika's many intentional headbutts. Check is 44 wins and his performances against Kessler and Lacy..when you know what youre talking about get back to us. Its not hard to pick Hopkins..but please don't do it based on highlights (not the entire fight) of one of Calzaghes fights. too many did this prior to the lacy fight.

    On the same Token.

If Taylor was able to outwork hopkins just imagine what Joe C would do to him. Different fight different time. Joe will own hopkins come April 19th

Bika, Mitchell and Hopkins are three different animals and they are not from the same class. Bika has no balance, no finesse, no intelligence and is a ultra-dirty rough fighter. Mitchell is too muscled, tight and bulked up, only looked for the fast knockout because he was not to wait for a points decision in Wales after losing in Germany, didn't move his body, didn't defend himself, took a barrage of 30 or 40 punches. Hopkins is a well-scholled, solid skilled, ultra-intelligent boxer and knows all the tricks in the game - he is as lean-muscled, fit, versatile counterpuncher and a ring general like Calzaghe is - what's up with these Bika, Mitchell, Hopkins insane comparison? Calzaghe had to face a guy like this sooner or later ( came to be later) and he knows the other guy is 7 years older... Calzaghe's past opponents have nothing to do with this one! This is the hardest fight for Calzaghe above Kessler, Lacy and Eubank.
