Saunders isn't a big ticket seller, but the strap gives him some leverage in negotiations. Winning a belt one week, then being accused of ducking because you don't fight the best in the division in your first defense ? Saunders is young and improving, he has years to earn a decent living and fight the best. At present he has options at MW, but only a couple make proper money. Fight GGG and most likely lose the fight and his belt, then where does he go ? Fight Eubank for good money, but give a man he hates a payday ? Fight Jakobs, i don't see it making big bucks, but its more winnable than GGG ? Fight Quillin, Lemieux ? The Quillin fight could be a interesting, but doesn't do big numbers, Lemieux fight could be a decent payday if he went to Canada, but its a risky fight imo.
It's not IF it's WHEN he will refuse the offer. GGG should do a Kovalev of himself and beat the **** out of these fake champs for a cheap pay. Once he gets all the belts, all roads would lead to him.
I hope they fight but Saunders can make good money on the UK. Remember it isn't Saunders avoiding this fight it's his management if anybody is.
I really can't see for the life of me bjs beating any fighters you mentioned and see him taking severe beatings in almost all. Which could he be even competitive. I feel he got too many rounds vs Eubanks in the first half. There were 4 out of 6 that could've gone either way. Only saw it once but I am pretty sure I remember thinking WTF when he got the decision because the first half was tight but the 2nd half was all Eubank. Neither did a thing to actually win most of the first 6 then the second half Eubank actually looked like he kind of wanted to win while bjs waa happy and looking like just surviving was his goal and he barely accomplished that. Forget GGG, Jacobs and quillin would put a nasty beating on him.. I actually saw something I liked from quillon from the Jacobs fight. I wish the ref gave him a chance, he stayed up which must've been hard enough. With no real time on the clock is think from round 2 on we missed out on something that could've been. As long as quillin learned, when really hurt you maul your opponent. You do NOT let the bear hug go until you've started to regroup. I just think bjs is that level below the top their and a couple to few below the elites. Way too far from the greats like GGG
