If Bivol goes down to 168, can he become a champ?

How would a fight between Canelo and Margarito go. The fight is at 154.

But why should Dmitry Bivol drop weight to get to 168?, He is a WBA Light Heavyweight Champion at 175 lbs. The smaller weight champion is supposed to move up to meet the bigger champion, it kind of sounds like cowardice to force the bigger champion to reduce weight to accommodate the smaller guy. Alvarez seems to need excuses these days, he is padding his record by fighting has been's or never was's.

He likely won't be as good but the 168 fighters are smaller and don't hit as hard. So it's hard to say.
Bivol seems like an inbetweener so maybe he does 168 better than people think.
Still, I think Canelo would have a good chance of beating him at 168 since he almost did (via judges) at 175. At 168 Canelo probably wins a few more rounds and gets the decision and if Bivol is drained, maybe Bivol gets KO'd like Kovalev.

For Legacy, it's a good idea to win multiple weight classes.

No because Canelo will hold the belts hostage and duck forever!

If Margarito was100% with two good eyes & hadn't had 2 years banned unfairly by the CSAC, I'd say he stood a good chance. One thing for certain he wouldn't duck the fight. I don't think Ginger could make 154 legally lol
He'd probably weigh 180 at fight time lol If in Vegas & it went the distance we all know the laughable King of Boxing would get the decision regardless Tony would never quit

Bivol offered Canelo a rematch @ 168 for all his trinkets because Gingers excuse was he was too big lol all 4 ounces too big & still under the 168. I wonder what Canelo made when the entered the ring ? It wasn't Bivol's fault Canelo has short stumpy legs was it. lol But par for the course the man known today as Ducknelo said NO!!!!!!!!!! He knew Bivol was the superior boxer & even his own faithful judges couldn't stretch what was a total butt whuppin' to give him ANOTHER gift draw but made it look like it was a close fight Bivol OWNS Ducknelo

This would be a war. Both men have great chins. I can't imagine the nightmare Margo could have been if he had good defense. I think that would have been his downfall against Canelo. Canelo would have taken advantage of the high output and lack of defense from Margo.

You could hit Tony with a 2x4 on the head & he wouldn't quit. The more they attack him gives him the opportunity to fire back. Canelo 's proved he certainly hasn't got a real Champions stones by the way he's quacking like a duck. Really Tony should have quit when Pac first smashed his eye but he doesn't know the meaning of the word. That eye was never 100% after Pac. Tony wasn't the same after that 2 year ban either
They robbed him of his career & tarnished his good name .

If he can make the weight successfully without draining/dying a definite possibility. However, the last time a LHW champion moved down from LHW to SMW was Chad Dawson and he absolutely ruined his career. And Chad Dawson started at MW and SMW, Bivol has never been below 175 so I think him moving down may end up being a disaster.
