If Bivol moved up and beat Usyk would he be the goat

Depends really.

No one sees Spinks as the goat and he unified a tougher LHW division and moved up to beat a tougher HW.

 

I think he would, Usyk is the undisputed world champion, he's swept all the best in the division this era and if Bivol somehow beats him then he'd definitely be the GOAT...

 

No, but I do think he would overtake Floyd or Pac if he did something like that.

Berterbiev and bivol get handled badly by Usyk

Berb did well 15 years ago as amateurs in fact I think he won ..but he and bivol gets KO'd badly by Usyk. They'd make Usyk look like a killer.

 

More realistically, how would you all rate Bivol if he beat Beterbiev again, Benavidez and then moved up and beat Opetaia?

Yeah the natural size difference is way too big and Beterbiev is even older than Usyk so he doesn't even have the advantage of being the fresher fighter in there.

I know the OP acknowledged that Bivol has no chance realistically but Bivol has gotten ridiculously overrated with his win over Beterbiev: it is a good win but Beterbiev is ancient at this point and has had so many injuries during his pro career that have taken a toll on his explosiveness and effectiveness in the ring. That win is closer to a Mayweather-De La Hoya or a Ugas-Pacquiao (where you could say the older boxer was clearly past his prime and would have put up a much better fight if younger) than a Fury-Klitschko (a fight which Fury likely would've won at most if not all points of Wlad's career given the style matchup).

 

Dempsey would be a LHW today. Just saying -- he was what, 185 at his peak? That's right around what Bivol is stepping into the ring weighing.

What if, instead of taking the millions to get blasted to pieces by Tyson, Spinks instead comes back and re-unifies the cruisers after Holy is done, and retires undefeated?

What rank does he get, then?

 

The cruiser had zero prestige then so very little.

I mean qawi went on to get a Cruiserweight belt, so did Hill and neither of them see that as anything but a footnote.
