Of course! I'm not saying I agree with it, just that Arum's perspective and goals as a promoter are very different from ours as fans. He wants all the dollars available for minimum risk. If he takes Yarde first the take from Bivol will still be there and likely bigger after a headline grabbing ppv in England. Hearn / Bivols management will likely make the same calculation. It's even more in their interests to delay given the aging issue.

Arum is a crook and a POS just like the rest of Boxing Promoters. He doesn't care about anyone but himself.

    He always has been.

But preventing Beterbiev and Bivol for unifying all the titles is perhaps the most obvious example of it.

It's crazy that Arum has been involved over the last 50-60 years so many big fights that the fans wanted to see , but as of recent has been part of the problem. Not just him, but pretty much all the big promoters main objective is to keep all their fights in house. Why can't these fighters say **** that, and I'm gonna fight who i want to prove who's the best. Are their contracts that messed up that they get no say, or they can only fight on a certain tv channel or streaming platform? These managers need to do a better job ifv we ever expect prime fighters to consistently fight the best to prove who's the best. Why is it so hard for the no1 and 2 in the division to face off before their mid 30s?

Boxing is in no way an efficient market filled with rational actors expressing their own returns.

It is more like a layer cake of spite, fear, insecurity, and animosity frosted with racial/ethnic/national animus. No one cares how much they make so long as it's "more than the other guy."

This is the only way to explain what we see.

The iron is hot now. Bivol just beat the top draw south of HW and Beterbiev looked invincible on ESPN on a rare Saturday when there wasn't a different sport pushing the fight past midnight.

They're big names now but that won't last.

I'm not saying they won't marinate it longer, but they will lose money doing so.

My guess is that they want to build AB up in the UK and have the fight there, but they forget these two go on cruise control against mediocre opponents and it will throw a wet blanket on the fight.

I agree but he is just maximising Beterbiev's monetisation potential here.

The Yarde fight will be in a 20,000 seat stadium and likely PPV. A lot of people will go, many Beterbiev fans. I expect it to do very well and financially it benefits Beterbiev too.

Afterall, why pay Yarde twice? It undoes his Joe Smith purse if you think about it.....

Get Yarde out of the way, build a UK profile and globally the Bivol fight is even bigger.

Arum is going to be inducted to the boxing blue balls hall of fame for sure. Is he ever going to retire??
