If Bob Arum retires from Boxing Promoting, is this good for Boxing?

Someone will take his place. GBP is just as bad. Boxing is ****ed.

 

You can always count on one of his **** sucking defenders to post some BS like this...A whole lot will change once this old hack leaves the sport.

 

Yes he is a nut job! I have seen him in action but he is also the greatest boxing promoter of all time. Blaming him for fighters being contracted to there own network is naive. What will change? Another promoter will take his place and mimic him.

 

He will be replaced but maybe the new guy will be smart and will deal with GBP, GBP is not as bad as Arum, they do overprotect but they like money, Bob could get nice pay days by giving his fighters but he hasn't done it.

 

Don King fading into Bolivian was excellent for the sport.

The sooner the old guard is changed, the better off.

 

It depends on how the power vacuum is filled. If promoters like Dibella pick up a larger share of fighters, we likely see more big fights. If the fighters go to Haymon or GBP, nothing much changes.

What we really need is the networks to put pressure on the promoters to work together.

 

While there are 'promoters', and 'sanctioning bodies', boxing will always be corrupt. Right now, Arum is a prime example of this, once he's gone, someone else will take his place

 

Maybe, but you cant deny that Arum has been the most pathetic Promoter out the group we have today...First let me say, I think all promoters are out for what they can get, that much I can admit, but I've never seen a promoter sit back and hold grudges and deprive us paying fans the fight we want to see...Yes he may have put together some good cards, but the snake has also blocked some outstanding matchups as well.

It just sickens me to see Dodumb and his Bob Arum defense team defend this scum.:-(

as far as promoting goes, if Arum retires, won't another promoter take his place? I think so. I think there is one promoter which was great and that is Don King. Many people insulted him but I did not because he put up great fights and great cards all the time. Arum and Goldenboy put up one main fight and then terrible undercard fights to build up the big fight again. Don King had enough guys so he made good undercard fights.

 

There is alot to be said about Don king, but he always made the big fights happen.
Arum don't.

Bring back the king.

 

As a fan, all I have to go on is gossipy **** coming out of websites, biased tv commentary and obscure podcasts.

How do I really know what the **** is going on? Whose fault it is that x didn't fight y or was he on peds when it happened?

So that leaves me with this:

Have I seen alot of good fights in the past x number of years?

Yeah, I have.

Has there been some questionable, skullduggerous shiat going on all the while?

Yeah, there has. (to be fair, I don't even know this for certain or to what extent)

If Bob goes away, will the good **** get gooder and the bad **** begin to fade?

I dunno'. Maybe and maybe not. My question is:

Who you gonna' replace him with?!
