If Bob Fitzsimmons moved his hands like this, would he be mocked?

The people who have the 26 minute version?

You mean the guy posting here in 2013?

    https://www.******.com/index.php?threads/bob-fitzsimmons-vs-jim-corbett-veriscope-film.25548/

You mean the most complete version in the world and the only one that is in actual chronological order? With intertitles, training camp photos, etc?

    Oh wait, thats me...

Never heard of it. If you were one of the so-called "experts" behind its creation then Im sure Im not missing anything.

Uhh, no you arent. But way to take credit for others work.

Ahhh yes, this fake list that youve never been able to produce. By all means, if you want a peak at a list of boxing matches please pursue Mendoza's list. Also ask him about his copies of Greb-Allentown Gans or Langford-Hague. Not your finest moments.

Mendoza and the truth have a tenuous relationship at best.

    I didnt?

When have I ever said that either Gans or Wilde were anything but impressive on film?

I cant count the number of times I stated that Greb was often called amateurish looking. You likely wouldnt even know that fact without me.

I have often compared Greb to Mayorga in the sense that Mayorga was a wild swinging, amateurish fighter who lacked fundamentals but managed to beat fighters "better" than him. Yes. Can you deny that? Can you categorically say, based on your study of the Greb-Allentown Joe Gans fight (LOL) that this is a poor comparison? I think not.

It's obvious that Judah had been watching and learning from Harry Greb shadowboxing videos. The
5 DVD set used to be sold on Amazon, but Samba King bought out the entire inventory.

Why do you think people do the same moves today? No chance it being because they saw Pele do it on video and thought they'd try it themselves? With your love of the GIF, rez, I expected you to be more in support of video as a tool for learning.

You often hear of footballers being made to watch DVDs of matches. I imagine it's because the coaches feel there is something to be learnt from doing so not because they thought the players' hair looked nice that day.

Can you imagine how scary Zab Judah would have been if he'd been transported back to that era? Guys would be rushing him with low, loose guards and he'd be killing them with brutal, fast left-hand leads and leaving them in the dust with his footwork.

He'd better watch out for Corbett's fearsome long uppercut, though.

Well then the question would be, how did Pele learn them?

I totally support video as a tool for learning, however it isn't a bigger factor to me than having things like incredible speed, durability, heart, explosiveness, vision, and, mechanics.

Football is different. There's plays to memorize, react to and plan around.
It's an extremely complex sport in comparison.

To be fair he'd be mocked by many today if he had a bigger name. Looks like a knock off Hamed with out the same recklessness or power. He looks interesting to me though. Thanks for putting me on to him.

He’s been pretty popular for a few years. People like him. Never seen his technique and style mocked. But that’s not to say it doesn’t happen. But I haven’t seen it.

I like him, haven't seen him before. But I'm suprised he's not called cocky or a showboat.

After searching a bit, he did receive his fair share of criticism from fight fans.

Awkward looking, hands down guys tend to draw a lot of hate for whatever reason. People tend to think it's a product of pure athleticism, that they'll get caught eventually and that it is an inherently stupid way to box with a guy.

I subscribe to the "if it's stupid and it works..." theory.
