:huh From 07 - 09, the undefeated Lyoto Machida trashed Sokoudjou, Ortiz, Thiago Silva, Rashad Evans to take the title, then defended against Shogun Rua, before he met his first loss.

His performances against Thiago and Rashad were mind-bogglingly good, hence why the 'Machida era' was proclaimed.

What Bones has done thus far is not unprecedented at this stage.

Ok, Rampage and Shogun we more impressive wins imo but now I understand where you are coming from,

But what weaknesses do you see in him that could be exploited?

In Jones?? Not many. The only thing I have seen so far that I think could be exploited is that he doesn't seem to have great boxing fundamentals, as in when he throws some creative strikes he leaves himself open for a counter. The thing is though, he's so good at reacting and pulling back out of range that when the counter comes, he is good at evading it. This is the main reason why I think Machida is by far the most intriguing match-up for Bones right now, because unlike Rampage, Lyoto has the speed to strike during that tiny window where Jones is out of position and unguarded, before he pulls back out of range again.

Jones is an amazing fighter, but I view this as his acid test. As I said, if he wins this fight in style I'll have no more doubts, because I view Machida as a much tougher assignment than a toothless, past-prime Rampage or a flabby, out of shape Shogun. This fight is the real deal.
