Povetkin is fighting for the first time outside Russia and Germany, he is going the step to the UK. He is also 38 yrs old, turn 39 later this year, so he might have to take this NOW. He should get the chance as a mandatory challenger for the WBA title.

Povetkin definitely is much bigger name with much bigger resume to fight.

    Discuss.

Joshua vs Wilder is currently the top priority.

Assuming it doesn't take take place (should AJ beat Parker) and the next fight was AJ vs Povetkin, then it would make sense to do a double header.

    Co Main Events:

    Joshua vs. Povetkin
    Wilder vs. Whyte

Povetkin needs a title fight vs somebody. Wilder won't fight him. we know that.

Would prefer the Povetkin fight next, because Povetkin is getting older, and would like to see him put up a good fight again Joshua. I also think he will put up a much better fight than Wilder as well.

I do want to see Wilder finished though, so either way works for me.

Lol you mean the fact various fighters including Wilder wanted to fight Povetkin and he failed PED test? Nobody is ****ing Alexander.

If Joshua truly doesn't want to fight Wilder and Wilder gives chase, the only fight he can take without being a big disappointment would be Povetkin. The same is true if Joshua gives chase and Wilder cowers away. Or Parker, should he come up with the win (while I'm not picking him, I think he's being dismissed a little too easily).

If anybody is against animal torture or a human being getting slaughtered like an animal. They must condemn this mismatch from ever taking place for the best interest of this brave Russian that is Alexander Povetkin. This is a cruel, disgusting and a gruesome mismatch in favor of Anthony Joshua and against Alexander Povetkin.
Putting Povetkin against the likes of Joshua is as cruel as animal torture or torturing a human by tying them up. It's against human rights! The poor, hopeless guy shouldn't even be allowed to compete in the heavyweight division. He doesn't deserve this torture and is going to probably sacrifice years from his life, just for a payday.

This 6 foot 0, feather fisted, blown up chubby / pudgy light heavyweight in Alexander Povetkin gets squashed like a little bug / insect / ant / grape by Anthony Joshua. This is as big of a mismatch as Andre Ward vs Anthony Joshua at heavyweight would be. Povetkin is too small, feather fisted and weak to be anything more than a minor nuisance to Anthony Joshua. No more than a fly being a minor nuisance to an elephant.

Alexander Povetkin vs Anthony Joshua is like an ant vs an elephant / bear. This is how much of a mismatch this is in favor of Anthony Joshua. And Joshua deserves no credit for this win. Joshua deserves as much credit for beating Povetkin as a human would for stepping on an ant and killing that ant.

I don't even think Povetkin beats David Price in all honesty. Too much physical size and strength for Povetkin to overcome.

Anthony Joshua has far too much muscles. And his muscles are far too big. His physical strength is on a level that has never been witnessed before in the heavyweight division. Povetkin simply has no way of overcoming those things and is most likely going to get squeezed to death like a bear victim or is going to get squashed until his body is splattered all over the ring.

Povetkin got waited out. He was too good and too dangerous for too long. He’ll be accepted as an opponent when the writing is on the wall to the trainers of the fighters that he’s ready to be picked off. Shame but that happens to dangerous fighters who don’t have mainstream popularity. I do hope he gets another crack at title the man deserves it. But his best days are behind him. There’s a reason Wilder’s team flew home from England 3 years ago and it wasn’t trace amounts of meldonium. They knew that fight was a KO 3 of their meal ticket and they weren’t gonna stop the gravy train before it started.

It’s funny seeing the selective bias from posters who were calling Canelo a drug cheat stick up for pedvetkin lmao

    This board has no shame.

Just look at the fight Canelo vs GGG, Canelo has failed PED test, but GGG wants this fight and this fight will happen.

Wilder didn't want to fight Povetkin, and he used the damned nanograms of meldonium (which had beed discovered) to cowardly ran away from Povetkin. And according to the last fight with Ortiz, I think that Povetkin would have knocked Wilder out .

I hope so! Povetkin can’t wait too much longer to get another shot. He can still win against the top guys on a good night.
