If Floyd had chased glory and pushed himself by climbing into the ring as an underdog against fighters that people thought he was crazy to go up against he might very well have the greater legacy even if Floyd had two or three losses along the way.

Floyd has always been a safety first fighter both in the ring and who he signs to fight. That's a very good way to ensure he's got a great chance to keep his mental faculties as he ages but it's a poor way to establish all time great status. The fact that he is still in the top 50 fighters all time gives testament to how skilled he is despite his somewhat lacking resume when compared to what it could have been if he were more aggressive in taking on tough fights.

Even if Floyd just remained in the WW division for the past five years without retiring he could have elevated his legacy immensely if he'd just fought 6 times a year or so against all comers. He's so tough to hit cleanly and never gets marked up that he easily could have fought six times a year with his defense. He's not a brawler that needs 4-6 months between fights to recover and rest up for the next war. If he had gotten in a war then sure take a few extra months off.

without a doubt Money. PacGwire's claim to fame is fighting weight drained, shopworn, leftover zombies (Hatton, Cottoe, De La Hoya, Morales, Barerra) or going life and death while being given gift decisions against a guy Money completely annihialated (Marquez). That in itself tells you who the greater and superior fighter is between the two.

All this biased thread is another Floyd witch hunt by the ******* patrol.

Floyd had you asked me at his retirment but since Manny has been on a roll If Floyd never retired he would probably still be number 1

B4 retirement he beat Gatti who was a tough 140 holder if not the toughest

then moves up beats Judah then beats the lineal champ then beats Oscar moving up for a belt and goes down and KO's undefeated Ring champ at a weight below

Takes a retirement and his comeback fight is vs the p4p 2 that's not exactly a easy way in then beats the man at welter

had he not retired and kept taking these fights hed be ahead but now due to retiring he is playing catch up with manny

I'd love to see Floyd vs Berto or Bradley barring no disaster or hatton collazo like fight or williams or spinks

I'd love Manny in with a slugger brawler type like Margo or Williams or Angulo or Kirkland
