do the same commissions regulate, judges score, sports writers cover both and forums offer opportunities to argue about it?
I say they are variations of the SAME sport. One on one hand-to-hand combat.
I want to see Anderson Silva verus Roy Jones!

    Wtf?

This may be the only post I have ever read that merits three times the text for correction than the original post. I won't even do it.

If you can prove me that boxing allows wrestling , judo , muay thai , jiujitsu , sambo...you know , subs , kicks , knees , elbows , slams , etc...then maybe you'll have a point.

Its like saying rugby and football are the same because they both smash into each other and have to reach the opposite side of the field. But when you look at the diffrent aspets of the game it completly diffrent.

Exactly. They're similar, but they're also a lot different. Hockey and lacrosse are more closely related than hockey and baseball, but they're still extremely different sports. Being "close enough" doesn't cut it.

Because there was already a boxing commision in most states, so that would be the logical group to appeal to. Without the commision mma and boxing would be assualt in some places.

Hawaii I believe has its own MMA commision, is it different there but the same on the mainland?
