and catchweights were banned. same day weigh-ins were enforced promoters had less leverage and only one champion per division would it get back it's audience?
Ya day before weigh ins were brought in for safety reasons, however certain fighters have abused this an now use it to balloon up in weight , and actually take away the safety aspect of it as by de hydrating to the extreme and then ballooning up also isn't safe Rehhdeation limits the same day as the fight are the answer
you must be new.... same days were the norm until some years back. at LEAST research a tiny bit before you try and seem like an expert at something you never tried.
With all the weight classes that's not really easy , i think 10 pounds for 140 to 168 , and 12 pounds for light heavy and 15 for cruiser
You would think this would be the most prudent step to take, but oddly the alphabets still haven't caught on.
Cut the number of weight classes to about 11. The olympics has 10 and they get on just fine. Maybe add another higher weight for super heavy weights and your golden
One champion per division, competitive match ups at all levels of the sport and no PPV would see boxing getting back to a mainstream sport.
I agree with all this. Only thing is when did promoters have less leverage? I mean Marciano's promoter took like 50%. That's a lot of leverage. Tex Rickard was known to be sleazy as well.
