Here's the thing, if every fighter was a brawler, sooner or later one of them is gonna figure out how not to get hit and still hit. Like Alvarado did to Rios, Then you got a boxer. It's an evolutionary thang gents. Without brawlers there would be no boxers and without boxers there would be no science.

 

nonito doesn't belong on this list. he's skilled like the others u mentioned. not as skilled....but closer to them than the other guys u mentioned.

 

Pac, GG, Nonito, Provo, Rios, and Margarito are not exciting fighters. They are only exciting against inferior opposition. Put them in with a skilled fighter, and there is nothing exciting about any of them. If they don't have a size advantage, PEDS or plaster, they are garbage.

Not until i actually really broke down the science of it all did i love it.... Then i jumped in the ring myself and immediately gained huge respect for the sport and its athletes

Floyd brings more money to the sport than any other fighter today, and boxing will never be dead... Less popular maybe, but not dead.

Mix of style is needed. For every Floyd, there should be a Pacquiao to balance it out with a diversity in between (of course). As much as I love boxing and appreciate it as the sweet science, if boxing was filled with Rigo & Floyd types, that would suck.

 

And it would suck more if boxing was filled with guys that fall-in with their hands down like fresh rookies...like Manny.
